Just over 2k words into chapter 3. This one is going fast, faster even than chapter 2. I'm hoping to wrap it up asap while I hunt for a new apartment, then do some work on something non-mechsplo for a change. :3

I found myself striding down the main avenue of the night district, the sounds of rowdy drinkers pouring out of the neon-lit pubs and bars. From the looks of things it was another fun filled Friday night, all manner of drunken shenanigans happening within the safe confines of the various run down, booze-stained dwellings that dotted the street.

I wasn't exactly in a celebratory mood though. I had spent two hours waiting for a date at the new lesbian bar, wasting my time on drinks while my dating app match stood me up. Just another night walking home alone. You'd think after six months in town I'd be able to find folks that were actually into serious relationships.

I told myself I didn't really care that much, that I just needed to be patient, get to know people more, and maybe I'd find someone to take a serious interest in me. Apparently I hadn't counted on the entirety of the nightlife in this city being populated exclusively by chasers and morons looking for hookups. Never mind how often I'd spend the night avoiding random college guys trying to "give the dykes the right kind of dick".

Gross.

Tallgeese, my beloved. I didn't think I'd like this suit but the more I saw of Wing the more it grew on me. Never mind that I had to do SO MANY repairs on this kit due to my own fuck ups, but glad that Heero can have his Zechs to face off with! That's enough gunpla for a while lol

Deathscythe Hell EW, holy shit was this a chore. It's not like the kit was hard to put together, far from it. The whole thing took me 3-4 days of work, but damn was it a boring build. Poses up nice for sure, but for a 2011 kit I was a bit underwhelmed. No worries, still love me the God of Death. 💜

RG Gramps (RX-78-02) is done. Took me a little longer than I expected but was no doubt one of my favorite kits so far. So many options and good details. Helps that I had my glasses in so I could do the whole thing without a headache. Now, back to writing!

I do find it a bit funny how Lover's Snare first went up when Ao3 was having issues, and now the rewrite went live in the same circumstances. This story is cursed in such a strange way. Unrelated, hope folks are ready for more soon!

Nearly 1400 words of rewrite down, had a very productive day so far. Going to take another crack after Lancer. We're on the home stretch.

I was all too happy to enlighten her.”

Go figure the first time I wake up feeling rested in a month is during the time when I have a cold. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. In other news, rewrites are coming along, if a little slowly. I've struggled with focus for the last few weeks, but I'm hopeful to get this next one done over the weekend! <3

It was here, pulled along deeper and deeper into the imperial facility, that the truth of the situation finally sunk into Lenzi’s head.
She had been captured.
Captured.
The word ran through her mind at a breakneck pace, swallowing all logic that remained. It didn’t make any sense to her, no more than the love of her life dragging her down into the depths of an IEF base. She couldn’t understand what would possess Dexia to do this, why the woman had brought her here.

Except...
A lot could have happened in the last year...but no, she couldn’t consider that. Dexia wasn’t one to bend the knee to the empire, not after everything they had been through together. There had to be some explanation for everything, she thought, some reason why Dex had done all this. The notion that her fiance was a turncoat was something she couldn’t even humor.
But none of it made any sense to her otherwise.
She’d heard the rumors about how the empire treated those who fought against them, the ones that disappeared into the backrooms and hidden places of the world, never to be seen again. Whatever had happened to Dexia must have hurt her, changed her, but Lenzi knew her Dexia inside and out. She could find some way to help her, she knew it.
The doubts in her mind echoed back a harsher truth. No one had ever escaped the empire, and there was no reason to be hopeful for any other fate. A prisoner of war was all that she would be now, another name among the lost. Lenzi stiffened as they moved, holding back the sudden shakes that wracked her body. The growing pit of fear in her stomach only stoked her rebellious rage. She was determined to survive this, no matter what. She would be the one who got out, and she’d bring her love home with her.
She didn’t want to consider the alternative.
