4️⃣ France’s Amb. Anne-Claire Amprou underscored multilateralism’s progress on #pandemicPPR inc. the Pandemic Fund, #IHRs, and the signing of the #PandemicAgreement – concrete demonstrations that multilateralism can deliver.
3️⃣ Joy Phumaphi #GPMB highlighted how challenging it is for leaders to prioritise long-term decisionmaking where success often means something did not happen. Building strong, independent monitoring mechanisms can ensure that there is transparency and accountability between crises.
2️⃣ @tiranahassan.bsky.social @msf.org emphasised the importance of supporting locally-designed solutions. As with #Ebola in DRC, communities are the ones saving lives but left out of decisionmaking. Implementing the #PandemicAgreement requires the political will to share power.

On Monday, @who.int Member States returned for #IGWG6 resumed session – building on an informal week of negotiations – with the goal of finishing the #PABS annex, a cornerstone of the #PandemicAgreement. Find key takeaways from Day 1 and the main topics to watch as discussions unfold this week 🧵👇🏼
2️⃣ Negotiators agreed to suspend #IGWG6 and reconvene from April 27 to May 1 – four weeks from now. In the meantime, informal discussions will continue to identify consensus language and prepare text proposals for the resumed session.
