Aha! Wolf Henchman instead of Weasels. This is all making sense now, haha. Also, this ironic ending is great, but the one we got was nothing short of perfect. What a damn good game.
Ooh! That final image there is the tree that was replaced by the Panther King's Castle, as seen in this early skybox at ECTS. Structure Map indicates that it would have lead to the "Wolf Boss" in a throne room. It seems like the Panther King was originally going to be a Big Bad "Fur Day" Wolf...

Between this and Conker dropping a bell on the demon in early Spooky, crushing your progression gates was the name of the game. I love that 25 years later, even with these cut gags, Conker's Bad Fur Day is still making me laugh.
Had a eureka moment! From E3 footage, we can see that it would have been one of the SHC squirrels blocking usage of the Context Sensitive Pad outside of It's War. The comically large safe above would have sorted that problem in seconds flat. The final game spared the squirrel and removed the pad.
Ah, it might have been just an ordinary Wolf. It looks like you would have fought him after getting through the large hollow tree pictured here. Amazing art as well, love the detail! Does it ring any bells?
Hey @conkerhimself.bsky.social, wondering if you might be able to shed some light on this: If you were meant to meet up with some Grey Aliens on Windy would they take you to the Moon and laterally the Werewolf Boss seen on the concept map? It does look like a Spacecraft on the moon...
Did you know that Conker's Bad Fur Day had three chapters that were cut for time? Here's the three sequences that would have had Conker riding a hog air balloon, fighting a cheesy king, and revealing what was meant to be hidden inside the Windy Windmill!

A day by the seaside for Rare Gamer today. Seeing this font is triggering (in a good way). Been humming the theme from Witchyworld on loop ever since.
We don’t veer into political stuff often (we’re all about the games which are meant to be your relief from all that) but I have to say as a Brit looking across the pond to our US cousins, the idea that you guys ban *any* books baffles me. It’s completely contrary to what you’re supposed to be about.

As the festive season approaches, what video games do you only play at this time of year? For me it's DKC3. Something about it just gets those yuletide feelings flowing (activating the MERRY cheat helps a lot in that regard!)

30 years ago today @rare.co.uk 's amazing DKC swung onto Super NES's across Europe (the US got it a few days later). There aren't enough words to describe just how much we love this game. Also ... 30 years?!? Blimey, where did *that* time go?!
