- Telstra reckons if the box had been patched or the prior design change had been documented and incorporated into mainterance SOPs, 'the outage may not have occurred'. List of Submissions: www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentar...
Pleased to share my second news commentary on AI regulation for the Social Cyber Institute. With Churchillian inspiration, I argue that organisations and their leaders need to track the geopolitics behind national regulatory frameworks for AI > those actual frameworks.
When Winston Churchill did an unauthorised Comsec pentest on President Roosevelt's phone line. (From Vol 1 of John Fahey's official history of ASD.)
'... using Large-Language Models (LLMs) that prompt a large dataset of European, local-language newspaper articles ... allows for a separation between geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions and for granularity in the identification of the source of such tensions ...
The Chair of the ECB's Supervisory Board recently became the latest developed economy financial regulator to issue an open letter calling for regulated entities to do first principles cyber better in light of frontier AI.
Image 1: SOCI Act 30EC change notification obligation. Image 2: What the TSRMP Rules require that notification to include at a minimum. Surely, a firmware update for timing infra would require prior notification to Secretary Home Affairs?
The Minister for Communications should be an effective administrator of the Telecommunications Act and overseer of the ACMA.
Good to see camp on is working (IT'S THE BARE MINIMUM 'CANNOT FAIL' THING AS PER TELECOMS STANDARDS), given the fatalities during the Samsung fiasco in 2025. Tell the ABC that camp on isn't 'call waiting' and that Ms Hewson should read the regs: www.legislation.gov.au/F2019L01509/...
Minister Wells, as per the May 2025 AAO, you are responsible for administering the Telecommunications Act and overseeing the ACMA. If telcos aren't trusted due to outage after outage caused by unforced errors, that is a failure of oversight from the ACMA and ultimately yourself.
Our skipper, Sophie 'Jane' Molineux has been absolutely marvellous. From Jane's proactivity as a tactician with regular bowling changes, excellent field settings to her own, swift impact with the ball when starting her own spells. Hardly a surprise, given her resurrecting the Melbourne Renegades.
Real squad mentality from our girls. Everyone has delivered for the team throughout this tournament. With bat, ball and in the field. Scary good.
Pretty much everyone with the ball in this final. LUCY AT LAST REWARDED WITH HER FIRST WC POLE. MOONS AND PHOEBS WITH THE BAT! Boy, was I rocking my Litchfield 18 jersey extra proudly this morning (having worked out in it during this campaign). And fitting that Pez was there at the end with Ash.
A pleasure to lead the drafting of another submission by AUSCL on regulatory frameworks that directly shape Australia's national resilience. Here, regulatory frameworks pertaining to the local accessibility of repair facilities for agricultural machinery deployed by our farmers.
Well, well, well, could we at last get Sarbanes-Oxley down under? Consultation: consult.treasury.gov.au/c2026-781711
If only the ABC paid as much attention to our Women's T20 World Cup tilt or indeed that WC. Some cracking performances by minnows like Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka and Ireland. If only the ABC noticed as it has for the men's soccer world cup.

Love this comment on Perun’s video on the collapse of the FCAS programme. 🤣🤣🤣
'[Within 180 days of the new BOD's issuance] Remediate each vulnerability as quickly as possible and no later than the timelines set forth in Table 1: Remediation Timelines'. [See the first three rows.] The other stuff in the BOD's pretty decent too: www.cisa.gov/news-events/...
The supreme competence of the pioneering Aussie women of the Women’s Royal Australian Naval Service. The military (especially RAN) wanted to recruit them. Both sides of politics were trying to sabotage their recruitment. The RAN found a way to bring them in.
Poms were concerned about our secrecy controls for ULTRA intelligence, but their concerns were allayed by an audit conducted by a senior British officer. Meanwhile, one of our main Siginters, very well connected with British counterparts, had a secret direct line to Chief MI6.
