A portrait I was commissioned to paint for a special birthday. My commission book is back open for a few months. If you are interested in commissioning a painting for Christmas it is a good time to start a conversation. Please feel free to reach out in my website.
Lots of things not right yet but I started a tiny self portrait. Attempting to keep it loose but true and building it up slowly. Oil on gessobord. 30 x 20cm.
Waiting for the Boat to Varanasi. Oil on gessobord. 30 x 20 cm It took me a while to figure out how to paint the light and the heat and make it more than simply a copy of the photo I took. I think I finally got there!
A commission from a few years back that I really love. I think she looks defiant and beautiful. Commissions are currently open for July/August. My contact details are in my bio. Grateful for any shares! ✨
The joy of being commissioned to paint people's loved ones never gets old. Adored painting this happy scene recently.
Self portrait with a Peacock Feather. Oil on linen. Private collection. #art #painting #portraitpainting
I don't do that many still lives but I really love them when they work out. This was based on a photo I took in a cafe in Sri Lanka a good while ago! Oil on linen. 30 x 25cm. Private collection.
Good evening. Popping on to say commissions are back open in June. Best way to contact me is via my website.
Start of a very small painting that I don't know what it will be yet. More needs to be sanded off. More needs to be added to. Maybe it's a sketch for something bigger. I don't know yet
Lovely (but very very windy) day in Margate dropping off my painting to the Festival of Cats exhibition in the Pie Factory www.festivalofcats.com Thanet people it's going to be a fab show #margate #festivalofcats #catart
Started a new self portrait this afternoon. The canvas had the remnants of a painting I wiped off last week and I kind of like that shadow underneath.
The Flowers he Gave Me. Oil on canvas. Private collection Feeling hopeful for a brief moment so here are some flowers from a good a while ago now!! Definitely painting more flowers this year!!!!
I love painting people with their pets. I have done a few commissions like this and it's such a beautiful thing to be asked to do! I currently have room for commissions (with or without pets). Oil on fine canvas. Contact link in bio
This photo was sent to me by a friend several years ago now and I had wanted to paint it but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. I'm still uncertain it's finished or a work in progress but I love that summer haze! Oil on canvas board 40 x 30cm
Waiting expectantly for peony season!!! This is a commission I did a few years ago. Looking forward to painting more of these beauties!!! Oil on linen. 60 X 75cm
My painting of a dear friend in one of his many boxes. It's called The Contortionist. Oil on canvas 40 x 30cm. This is me: rebeccafosterartist.com/home.html Very kind thank you 🙏🏻
Evening Shadows. Oil on canvas. 50 x 60cm I took the photo this painting is based on a long time ago. It is a wall in Laos and I had always thought I wanted to paint it so I finally did!!! It reminds me of exploring new places and the hot evening sun.
So, abstraction is very different to my figurative work but something I have wanted to explore for a while. I very much enjoyed building this painting up over several months. It is quite layered and I finished it using oil sticks which are a totally new medium for me!
Just hanging out taking selfies. I really like these two together! Oil painting self portraits on my studio floor!
Spring is coming isn't it?!? It's coming!! Here is my tulip painting based on a photo one of my friends took. Feel like buying myself some flowers today. Oil on smooth canvas.
Took this photo on Sunday in my studio and I thought I would post it up on here as I liked it and so you can see the person behind the paintings! (If you follow me on Instagram you will already be subjected to my cheesy grinned selfies, sorry)
