help me identify this plant (weed?)? it's on the edge of a new-growth wooded area. on a hill, ground is well drained but has access to underground water.

a tall skinny plant (weed?), pale green stalk, pale green smooth-edged almond shaped leaves. cone shaped flower stalk on top , small yellow flower on stalk, 5-6 petals with orange center.
