An Atala butterfly. Thought extinct in the US in the mid-1900s, they bounced back over the last few decades. Today there were dozens around my kid's school. This was one of them.

From the garden, a patch of sand squares, a Florida native annual wildflower that forms uniquely square-shaped flower clusters.

Some native plants and pollinators. American beauty berry with an (invasive) honeybee. Bee balm with a wasp. In fact, "bee balm" seems like a misnomer since it seems to only attract wasps.

The pollinators took a hit with the bizarre deep freeze and extended drought, but they're coming back.
