The air quality in parts of Oregon and most of Washington state is somewhere from "unhealthy" to "this is fucking toxic". Wear an N95 mask if you have to go outside, and use an air purifier inside. Also the AQI scale only goes up to 500 and it's getting maxed out. We're gonna need a bigger scale.
Air quality in the upper northwest U.S.: it's bad. If you're in this area and have to go outside, wear an N95 mask.
According to the LA Times article, the record set in California was for an entire month. Maybe that's the distinction.
More camps should be doing what Boston Private Tutors are doing with a COVID-safe summer camp. This summer's session is July 13–17, 2026, and registration ends tomorrow, June 28. www.bostonprivatetutors.com/ccprograms
Hi folks - We're happy to report Chris's prostate removal surgery was a success! Now the long recovery process starts, and it could be up to a year before Chris is completely recovered.
The Chico branch of the Butte County (CA) library is now closed indefinitely due to the murder of two people on June 22nd. This library is a genuine community resource and meeting space, and it likely had many programs lined up for kids for the summer. 😢 www.buttecounty.ca.gov/528/Library

I guess NextDoor isn't a complete cesspool. A local photographer with a drone took this fantastic shot of the north rim of Butte Creek Canyon just outside of Chico. Photo credit: Jim F. nextdoor.com/p/j4MpZd_sLN...
How every county in California has voted (so far) for the governor's race. Red: Hilton (R), ≈1.42M votes · 27.6% statewide Blue: Becerra (D), ≈1.31M votes · 25.5% Green: Steyer (D), ≈1.01M votes · 19.7% Yellow: Bianco (R), ≈580K votes · 11.3% www.sfgate.com/politics/art...
Plumerias at night. I love these flowers so much. #Flowersky #bloomscrolling
There's 61 fucking candidates for California governor on the ballot for Tuesday's election. Guess I better go for the one with silliest name.
When I search on "amber" I'm only seeing two items come up that are in stock. www.peculiarityshop.com/search?q=amber
Driving back to Chico from Orange County after a lovely ten-day visit with a dear friend who at the last minute plucked a plumeria flower and stuck it in my hat.
I mean, look at how many CA state legislators get rated with a D or F from the Courage Campaign. It's a lot! couragescore.org/all-represen...
Some flowers for ya heathens. Also don't forget to tell your people that you love them. ❤️ #bloomscrolling #spreadlove
Everything Jessica said is correct but I will just add that there are three places where it would be enormously beneficial to mask up because disabled and immuno-compromised people have to go there: - grocery stores (including CVS and pharmacies) - healthcare settings - mass transit
After six years, @mvankerkhove.bsky.social of WHO has quietly deleted her tweet stating #COVID19 was “NOT airborne” (3/22/2020). Well, I guess that makes six years of disinformation all better. x.com/mvankerkhove...
Let's sit next to the flowers and count the bees. #flowersky #bloomscrolling
Some fresh roses for y'all from my flower-pics dealer in SoCal. They get the best flowers down there. #bloomscrolling
THUNDER HAIL IN CHICO! I really missed this sort of weather when I was living in the Bay Area. The summers here are like hell on earth but the winter/spring/fall weather is great, and I freaking love the drama of thunderstorms.
Flower time! These are all from a friend in SoCal since it's way too early for roses here in Chico. Kinda jealous of people who get to live in places with roses year round but happy to have friends who send me flower pics. #bloomscrolling
Ho. Ly. Fuck. Mama, don't let your babies post Zoom links on the internet if they don't want their meetings recorded and broadcast.
Indeed yes. Taxing a billionaire at a 90% marginal rate will still leave them with at least $100,000,000, more money than they'll know what to do with.
