Hate to break it to you but the problem isn’t finding spaces. It’s the people. I have a nice, open patio/firepit I had installed for just such purposes 2 years ago and the issue is no one makes the time to be neighborly. In my neighborhood no one ventures outside except for my wife and me. No one.
