Genuinely intrigued by these presentation types to be offered as part of this forthcoming @advancehe.bsky.social event. I like to imagine that a 'thunderbolt' is essentially a single sentence which lasts about 10 seconds, stuns the audience completely and then is done. I reckon I could have a go.
I really don't like the use of "sports" - the actual FT story gets it right but this is one of those US imports that really grates

A tidy summary from @dkernohan.bsky.social here highlighting the frightening stat that out of more than 42,000 speaker events a huge 0.5% of speakers were rejected in 2023-24 and over 3% had some conditions applied to their events.
I'm still disappointed that the UK branch campus of this institution has yet to secure registration.
