Had to return some jeans that didn't fit my daughter to the thrift store, and you have to exchange for stuff the same day and look what I found! Also, my coworker gave me 10 tomato plants and 2 pepper plants! Now just need to find energy to plant them all.

Day 3 tracking walking no photo again...was walking around a business-y area of town, which was kind of bleak...what's interesting is that just up the road is Lake Chabot, one the beautiful East Bay Regional Parks (photo from several years ago)

Finally read Lisa Yee's *Maizy Chen's Last Chance* and even with high expectations, they were exceeded. It's an engaging, entertaining, emotional read with family stories, friendships, a smart and caring main character, and more. Don't wait as long as I did to read it! #KidLit 📚👍

Just watched this 67-minute movie on TCM on HBOMax, and have to share youngish Robert Mitchum in the bath house. Yes, let's go to the double-header. PS--this movie also has Dean Jagger.

Beautiful! Saw some of Catlett's work last year at the DeYoung.

Around this time last year, took my son to the DeYoung (SF) for an Art History assignment. A lot of the art I saw has stayed with me. Since I've been thinking a lot about public transit lately, here's Theresa Bernstein's In the Elevated (1916).

My photo of a somewhat realistic oil painting (in a gold gilt frame) of white people in the early 20th century on a trolley/public transit car. Predominant colors are blacks, reds, and browns with a pop of yellow from one seat and white from someone's open newspaper and a shawl on another passenger. No one seems to be interacting and we can't see what's outside.

Cooked to distract myself and feed my family. Finally used the last 5 lasagna noodles in a package by making a mini lasagna in a 9x5 pan. Please excuse the bad photo. Also made a pasta bake and some chicken since the oven was on.

Been baking bread for over 20 years, but still a beginner. Made a first attempt at challah today. Not pretty, but very tasty. (Used the recipe from Hot Bread Kitchen cookbook, which I have checked out from the library.)
