Ordinary Rendition

Attorney (not yours), healthcare compliance professional, greater Minnesotan, lifelong Gopher, North Star State devotee. None of the opinions expressed here are my own.
It has been suggested that I would be unfit for public office on the basis that I don't immediately think this is the greatest idea in the history of ideas.
I, for one, do not agree with "destroying the federal government, but leftishly."
These are bad people and deserve scorn and shunning. They diminish a society.
Bernie Sanders' forgiveness of Graham Platner for getting a Nazi tattoo means that it's stupid, almost offensive, for us to care.
I think it's, uh, interesting that Republicans are making it so clear that you must do exactly what they tell you, every single time, or they will try to ruin you.
Very funny how they're always telling us that American schools are terrible and then they're complaining that the foreign schools are terrible, too.
It makes me exceedingly nervous to look at judicial decisions we don't like and say "nope, doesn't work." On the other hand, the judiciary is a co-equal branch - no more, no less - and it doesn't have a monopoly in this realm. I think what I'd really like to see is some limiting principle here.
This is an exemplar of the level of understanding of the world by many people who think that Democrats should simply choose to win more.
The Israeli government has committed horrific crimes against the Palestinian people (among others). Hamas has committed horrific crimes against the Israeli people (among others). You can condemn both of these. But if you think condemning Hamas is genocide denial, it's you who deserves condemnation.
This "man" - the Republican Party's 2024 nominee for the Senate race in Minnesota and a serious contender for the same nomination this year - racked up six figures of back child support. Shamelessness is the Republican superpower.
Do such people never look at themselves and wonder "why am I like this?"
I, for one, would prefer that the director of the FBI live in or near Washington, D.C., where the director of the FBI works.
Kudos to CNN for running the kind of headline that describes the story and the context all at once.
How was that "pretty clear?" Their postnuptial agreement, signed a month before the dismissal in question, didn't even make clear that they were intending to divorce at all.
Screenshot, because saying stuff like this means you don't get to block and run.
Trump moves on from complaining about the Pope to posting about Swalwell, but *not* about his being a rapist.
A big reason that things are the way they are is that people whose whole job it is to inform the public either 1) have no idea what they're talking about or 2) aren't honest about the things they talk about.
I really have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to your views, including what you think of Platner, except for what you've written.
Something with a 30% chance will happen three times out of ten. That Emily Gregory won doesn't mean she didn't have a 30% chance of winning. The prediction market sites are awful and you should absolutely dunk on them as you can, but don't beclown yourself while doing so.
I am in favor of deporting convicted non-citizen pedophiles.
