Artist, feeder of two cats, walker of my wife’s dogs, love art, poetry, James Joyce, St.Patrick’s Athletic, Leinster Rugby ( why are my teams so far away from where I live???) I live in Sligo, Nth West of Ireland: where W.B.Yeats is buried.
The Yeats International Summer School which attracts 60-90 students and lecturers, mostly from abroad ( including Japan, Korea, India, Spain, France, UK, US, Germany…) to Sligo, for 9 days for talks, lectures and celebrations of the work of W.B.Yeats. Speakers are usually academics, or poets.
I went back to see it again a week later, and also saw this: By Camille Corot. That one convinced me, I could/ should be a painter. Been doing it ever since…
There are hundreds, but this one blew me away: I was about 12, went into Dublin on the bus, visited the Hugh Lane Gallery, and saw this; The Umbrellas, by Renoir.
If you'd like, post one photo of a painting that you took with your very own hands.
Where’s the stat for beers knocked back? Well deserved, Lads. Congratulations.
