Okay, Walmart… I can’t unsee it. 😂 That bouncing smiley in your commercial looks an awful lot like Trump. And considering Walmart’s history of “Made in USA” vs. today’s China-heavy inventory, the irony is almost too perfect. 🇺🇸🇨🇳
Before We Begin… Every hike has a plan. And then there’s what actually happens. Today’s hike was supposed to be about trails, campsites, waterfalls, rivers, elevation, and whatever else the Superior Hiking Trail decided to throw at me. Instead, almost immediately, I got a fox.
(CROSS RIVER, Schroeder MN) Near the beginning of the hike I watched a mother duck leading a parade of tiny ducklings across the water. It was one of those completely unplanned moments that no itinerary can promise. Those little surprises are why I keep coming back.
I really think you foresaw the future. Seriously. So “trumpian”
A few photos from yesterday’s hike with Lucy. Part American Bulldog, part Great Pyrenees, and all trail dog. Somewhere along the way she decided letting Dad lead wasn’t such a bad idea. We came home happy, and ready for a nap. Happy Father’s Day to everyone with a loyal four-legged sidekick.
Morning entertainment at my place: Clifford, Linus, and Lucy starting the day the only way they know how—full-contact wrestling. It looks like a dogfight, but it’s really just their daily “let’s bounce off the furniture and each other” routine. #fridayvibes #doglovers #duluth
🌅 Early mornings, coffee in hand, and the daily ritual begins… ☕🐾 Every sunrise, it’s the same: first, the potty breaks, then the real show starts—these two can’t resist a good wrestle. Two minutes of chaos, fur everywhere, and pure joy. This is how every morning rolls around here.
If you ever doubt the phrase “democracy dies in darkness,” try watching news outside the U.S. for a change — BBC, Reuters, Sky News — and see how differently the story can be told.
👇March sounds better, et tu? Beware the Ides of March.
If this sounds absurd, good. That means you’re still using the rational part of your brain. Because the scariest thing about satire these days is how little you have to exaggerate.
The city isn’t under threat— It’s under production. Cue patriotic music. Cue slow-motion footage. Cue the inevitable line: “No one’s ever parachuted like this before.”
Someone asks, “What’s the mission?” He says, “Presence. Optics. History.” Someone else asks, “Sir, whose authority is this?” He says, “Mine. Everyone loves it.” And that’s when you realize: This isn’t governance. It’s pageantry with gravity.
Parachutes blooming midair. News choppers circling. Commentators losing their minds. And him, somewhere off-camera, whispering, “Make them spread out. I want coverage. Tremendous coverage.” No plan. No endgame. Just vibes and vertical deployment.
JD Vance is able to trigger every negative emotion in my psyche with absolutely no effort. What a piece of work. Sorry, my take. May not be yours.
