Great day at the Toledo Museum of Art as we celebrated 125 years of this incredible local institution and 250 years of our great nation. Storm and flood damage across our eastern counties has homeowners, farmers, and first responders regrouping. In Jerusalem Township we discussed what resources are still needed and how to prevent future damage. Working to help those impacted get back to normal.

10,000+ FirstEnergy customers lost electricity during a heat wave this month, just a week after Ohio regulators rejected their request to loosen rules around how many power outages are considered acceptable. The blackout left our people without air conditioning as temps rose to 100° for days on end!

A great day to unveil the centerpiece of the Sandusky Bay Pathway, the Pipe Creek Bridge. This is the 5th mile of this new pedestrian and bike trail funded through a $24.5 Million Federal RAISE grant delivered for the City of Sandusky. An historic win for our people.

Great day for NW Ohio as we unveiled new workforce housing at The Grand & The Glen. This $30 Million investment is a win for our local economy and hardworking people of our region. Thrilled to see these federal dollars returned home and to extend gratitude to all involved for dedicated partnership.

Honored to help NW Ohio Army veteran Kenneth Adams get his earned and deserved Combat Action Badge for his valorous service during Operation Iraqi Freedom that had previously not been awarded. Grateful to help rectify issues with his service record and present him with his badge this week.

On July 5, 1935, Congress passed the National Labor Relations Act. It allowed workers to join and form unions. As the daughter of a union organizer, I know how collective action can change a family’s quality of life. Today we celebrate the labor movement and its fight for workplace rights for all.

As the United States of America marks the #4thofJuly, and 250 years of Freedom and Independence today, it’s an honor to celebrate the American experiment in so many ways across our NW Ohio communities. We lift up the greatness of America today and every day.

It’s been more than a week since Congress passed bipartisan legislation to make housing more affordable—the bill is still sitting on the President’s desk waiting to be signed into law. We need haste to help hardworking American’s struggling to afford housing and achieve homeownership.

Today’s SCOTUS decision hands Billionaires, wealthy donors, and big corporations even more power to flood our elections with outside money. The system is rigged against NW Ohio—this makes it worse. I'm fighting to get big money out of politics and make sure hardworking voices across Ohio are heard.

Joined local partners to announce an $18.4 Million investment for drone production in Holland, Ohio which will create 300+ new jobs. This new NW Ohio facility is the first major assembly and manufacturing center here in the US as part of a $1.1 Billion Pentagon contract for Ukrainian Defense Drones.

With a heavy heart and deep gratitude, remembered the life of Sydney M. Boisselle. She proved impact is not measured in years, but in courage, character, and how you work to lift others. All those who loved her say she was pint sized and full of spice. In her final act, she gave the gift of life.

NW Ohioans know how important auto manufacturing is for our people and region. As a proud daughter of the UAW and Co-Chair of the Congressional Auto Caucus I work to protect and support this vital industry. Trade policy must lead to fair trade that puts workers first, and keeps jobs here at home.

The Billionaire Bonanza Bill resulted in slashing of health insurance for millions of our citizens and huge tax breaks for Billionaires, while our middle class is being kneecapped by rising prices on everything. Now they want to give $324 Billion to Iran? I wish the GOP would help Americans instead.

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool doesn't have a vandalism problem, it has an engineering problem. First we replace fractured pipes underground. Second we stabilize lateral soil movement. Third we re-engineer shifting expansion joints. Fourth we address drainage issues. Together we can solve it.

Voted in favor of the most significant bipartisan housing bill in a generation. It blocks Billionaires from buying up homes, while allowing more homes to be built at lower costs. The President must put politics aside and swiftly sign this bill that makes homeownership and housing more affordable.
