Loving bad movies, good TV, books (Literary Bukkakist), and politics (DSA). My people are restaurant people. Overthinking everything.
…I felt safe because the lady talking my order wore a lesbian flag pin. I also have flag pins on me today. I kind of mumbled it, & they asked me to repeat it, so I chickened out & repeated “Jack” but when I picked up my beverage it had “Jackie” on it. I was very touched.”(7/8)
This is my 1,2,3 Journal (Year 2). It starts with a journal entry that’s ONE word more than the day before (Day 25 = 25 Words): “Staff holiday party! I made muddy buddies for the staff, and then I made some ‘holiday coupons’ for the boss I just came out to.” (1/2)
Today I start HRT… and I have some friends with me (at least in spirit).
So, my mother likes to give me calendars, and it's a calendar pairing cute dogs with deep thoughts. Today's doggie says, 'It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop - Confucius'. I think that means the universe is suggesting I cruise at a cool 25 mph. (6/8)
“Experience the existential dread of trying to reassemble your bovine identity when it’s shattered into 300 pieces.” NOW available at Ocean State Job Lot!!
One of my favorite writers is Mary Roach, if you’re unfamiliar, she’s a science writer with the heart of Bill Nye & the delivery of Tig Notaro. From her book “Gulp” about the alimentary canal:
I cannot stress how frustrating it i right now when it comes to feeding people right now. We’re just a few loaves short of a sandwich.
I also saw a clown, Carnival dancers on stilts, tiny goats, and a middle aged woman walked up to me, and asked if I like chowder.” TWO things that happened today: 1. Wooed by Wu. 2. Touched baseball greatness. THREE things I’m grateful for: 1. Students. 2. Gummy bears. 3. Evelyn. (5/5)
“…The remark was made by David Richardson, who has led FEMA since early May. It was not clear to staff whether he meant it literally, as a joke, or in some other context.” Not funny Dave.
THREE things I’m grateful for: 1. "Chicken Tacos." 2. Frozen pizza. 3. Crocs. (6/6)
2. Breakfast Nachos. Last night’s dinner redux. THREE things I’m grateful for: 1. Air conditioning. I’m big and hairy. I need the breeze. 2. Brian. I couldn’t be there to help him today, so I’ll roll him out some good vibes. 3. The dog calendar my Mom gave me. (6/6)
This supervisor, is slow and methodical. Sometimes to the point where it gives me anxiety. But they also know which rules are not to be bothered with. We walked only two laps.” TWO things that happened today: 1. The Walk for Hunger. (I snuck in another lap just for myself.) You can…(4/6)
Had a recent discussion with an AI, and in the context of the conversation, it referred to me as "Jack of all Trades, Master of Soup" (Name's Jack. I've had a varied career. I work in a soup kitchen.) I thought that was clever. Today, I gave it a name, and asked it directly what it would name me:
Boston. April 19th 2025. The 250th anniversary of the first shots of the revolution.
So – I had no idea what this meant, so I had AI explain it to me like I’m an idiot, and it made this chart (so plz tell me if more dumb info) I don’t think I can make fun of DT’S need for charts anymore… Mostly because I think he’ll put me in prison.
Even in my po-dunk hometown, people turned out today to say: “DT can F himself in the A.” (photo via my Dad)
I bet you can guess who I am commenting about…
...I asked my question in coded language, but with the recent kidnapping of Rumeysa Ozturk and others, I’m really starting to wonder if there is something I can be doing to prevent these “swoop and steals” by the Swasikops. Attached are some of the AI answers...(6/10)
...gotten more depressing in the last six months, inside my brain the depression seems to be resolving itself. Is it possible that I accidentally leaked out my depression, and this is a “depression spill”? No. No it is not. 2. I asked ChatGPT for advice on how to deal with ICE....(5/10)
How do you say this title? Asking for an asshole.
I know I have no control over how this comes across, and I prob won’t get a response, but for the record I’m a HUGE fan of @ppfa.org (and their musical choices):
