This diner in my neighborhood uses the most AI-iffied images of food in its promos and menus. As you might imagine, the food quality is on par with its low-effort advertising.

I finished my Wimbledon WIP while watching the Australian Open 🐨 🎾 It'll look better tomorrow after blocking, but I wanted to share something calm and pretty. It's been a day, friends. Be kind to yourselves. 🫶🏻 👨‍🎨: Green Lane Cowl by Kaffe Fasset, Rowan No. 76 🧶: 8 colors of Rowan Felted Tweed DK

To end the year with some good vibes, my love @bripod.bsky.social and I spent the afternoon with "Monet and Venice" at the Brooklyn Museum. As Stephen Sondheim said, writing as Monet-contemporary George Seurat (and immortalized by Mandy Patinkin): "Color and light. There's only color and light."

Our flower CSA sent a huge bunch of fragrant eucalyptus "for centerpieces" today. Since our table is a craft space rather than an eating space, I made a bouquet instead (with enough left to make 3 or 4 more!).

Both the colorway and my project were inspired by the portrait by Eugène Delacroix of a lovely, pensive Black woman in sumptuous clothes. I was lucky enough to see this painting in person on an anniversary trip to Paris, pre-Covid.
