[animal death] Missee crossed the rainbow bridge... her health took a turn and we had to say goodbye. It happened really fast and I'm devastated, but trying to remember that we gave her a good home in her golden years. She was such a funny and sweet cat who touched so many lives.

I'm slightly worried about running out of the white silk I'm using... so I want to start with the most visible parts, and I might not use silk for the very back? Idk She has this waist flounce thing so I think I'll pattern this next so I can figure out how much fabric I need for it.
Used the weekend to tape pattern the asymmetrical white top! Thank you Nina for helping me tape and draw the back- it made the process very smooth.

Did this IG story template a while ago and I'm glad I saved it... pretty ♥️💖💚💙💛💜 I want to get more in the habit of sharing my older work!
Sleeve progress- I have to do some fit adjustments around the elbow, so I treated myself to doing the fiddly hand details first (which shouldn't need adjustment). I'm using this really pretty but sheer off-white silk, so I flatlined it to white cotton before sewing.
This one caught my eye at a bookstore. It was a slow start but I liked the ending. It switched perspectives a lot, including to the story's villain, which I thought was interesting. Good social commentary.. but I do wish there was more weird horror.

This thing was hard to figure out!! Way harder than I expected. I considered skipping the sleeves, bc only one is barely visible, but I think they'll be useful. I can install armpit guards to protect the rest of the cosplay, and I sewed a strap into one side that I'll just for armor rigging.
