THE BISCUIT THIEF was officially published today! I will talk more about it in the coming days. In the meantime, I'll just say it's a speculative romp through an ironic version of the 1970s, complete with adventures in both time and space, not to mention the ghostly dimension 👻😊🎶🎵✨️ #booksky
Bill Oddie RIP. My new poetry book contains riffs on popular songs and Oddie's 'Funky Gibbon' is one of the songs 🎶🎵 I loved The Goodies when I was young #BillOddie
Last day to get the ebook edition of SONGS GONE WRONG for free 🙂 #booksky www.amazon.com/dp/B0H9XVTR78
Unboxing video (again). This is a book I am especially pleased with. I mean, all my books are books I am especially pleased with, but this is one I am particularly especially pleased with... 🙂🎶🎵 #booksky
Maithreyi and myself did a reading today as part of the UNESCO City of Literature celebrations in Aberystwyth. Maithreyi read from her poetry book, SKINNY DIPPING IN TIGER COUNTRY, and I read from two books: poems from SONGS GONE WRONG, and flash fictions from IMAGINARY HOTHEADS 🙂 #booksky
An unboxing video for SONGS GONE WRONG, copies of which turned up today. This is my book of performance poetry and I will be reading from it at the Ystwyth Books sponsored event on Saturday in Aberystwyth, as part of the ongoing UNESCO City of Literature celebrations 🙂🎵🎶 #booksky
One of the things I have been doing is replacing substandard covers of my previously published books with better covers. This a new cover for an ebook-only set of stories about Detective Inspector Ynch Short of Scrofula Yard. You can compare it with the old (yellow) cover at your leisure 🙂 #booksky
Exactly 13 years ago my novel about an apeman test pilot, STRINGENT STRANGE, was published. 13 years! Crikey. It was going to be the first in a long series of novels but I only wrote one sequel. At some point I will have to continue the adventures of the hairy hero! 🍌🐵 #booksky
Cover reveal time... This is ODDITY O'CLOCK, the third part of the "Knick Knack Trilogy". The book should be available for purchase soon. It's a detective story, a philosophical romp, and a speculative comedy, with an Introduction by the always gracious Paul Di Filippo 🙂🎵🎶 #booksky
The evolution of my cover design abilities... Three years ago I put together an ebook sampler collection. I was never satisfied with the cover, but only now have I redesigned it... This gives me a chance to promote the collection again over the next few days 🙂🎶🎵 #booksky
My novel THE PERCOLATED STARS is still a free ebook and is free for another three days. Here's the link for British readers 😊 #booksky www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0H6GMHVV3
No foreign travel this year but I am doing two events here in Wales, in Aberystwyth on the 25th of this month, and Swansea on the 20th of August, and I really ought to do more events in general... 🎵🎶 #booksky
The second Mission Creep Press book has just been published. It's a reprint of my first published novel. Some people say this is the best novel I ever wrote. It's dark and strange in a way I don't do anymore. Anyway... THE PERCOLATED STARS is out and about once again :-) #booksky
My latest collection, IMAGINARY HOTHEADS, is free to download until July 3rd. www.amazon.com/dp/B0H6LSRF43 I have published many collections of flash fiction over the years, but I think this is the best one to date 👻 #booksky
Three poetry books I am currently reading. I am a prose man but I do try to read poetry. However, I nearly always understand whatever prose I happen to be reading, whereas some poetry (a lot of poetry actually) leaves me baffled #booksky
Copies of the first Mission Creep Press book arrived today. It's good to examine the physical object and see where future improvements can be made. One of the pieces utilises a pale grey ghostly font in order to match the theme of the text and it doesn't really work. I will change that 🙂 #booksky
The fifth anniversary of the publication of MY RABBIT'S SHADOW LOOKS LIKE A HAND. Although I have written 1000+ stories in my career so far, this one stands out for me. I see it as most representative of everything I hope to do in literature. Published as a chapbook by Eibonvale Press 😊🐇🐇🐇 #booksky
Exactly one year ago I finished writing 'Hannah and her Cisterns', which ended up as a section of my book IMAGINARY HOTHEADS, published recently by Black Scat Books. It's not a novella in the ordinary sense but a set of linked flash fictions, as are the two other novellas in the book 😊 #booksky
The main logo of Mission Creep Press was designed by the artist Chris Harrendence, who illustrated my Tartarus Press book ORPHEUS ON THE UNDERGROUND many years ago. Chris is one of my favourite illustrators ever 🎶🎵👻 #booksky
Day two of promoting the first book released by Mission Creep Press. Why did I choose such an unpopular literary form as the prose poem for the first book? The ebook is free from any Amazon outlet for the next four days. Look for an ebook entitled "He Felt a Ghost so He Stole It" :-) #booksky
With luck, the first Mission Creep Press book will be published tomorrow. A collection of my prose poetry, HE FELT A GHOST SO HE STOLE IT. And so the publishing venture begins. I intend to do my very best with it :-) #booksky #prosepoetry #flashfiction #poetry #smallpress
This is the week that the first Mission Creep Press book will be published. The first of many, I hope. Certainly the first of 100, as that's how many paid ISBN numbers I have. After that it depends on whether the press is a success or not... 🎶🎵 #booksky
Exactly one year ago, my book of linked flash fictions, THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT, was published. Exactly two years ago, the third volume of my DABBLER WITH DRABBLES project was published. Neither book did well in terms of sales or reviews. But they exist and that's something, I guess 🎵🎶 #booksky
Remind me to never read a book by H. Beam Piper again. He's like Ayn Rand in a rubber Heinlein mask... Also go back in time and tell my younger self to ease up on the science fiction and read more crime fiction instead. Simenon is vastly better than the SF guys who came out of the magazines #booksky
Not an unboxing video. Just a parcel opening video, but at first I thought it was going to be an unboxing video 😃🎵🎶 #booksky
Obtained this mighty tome in a charity shop today for only 20p. I have read them all except EAST OF EDEN, which I have long planned to read, so now I have the chance. I love Steinbeck. In fact it was THE GRAPES OF WRATH that first got me into modern literature when I was 18 years old... #booksky
