The English translation for Fantasy Maiden Wars is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch! It will be available on the Nintendo E-shop starting from the 30th of July. Do note that the English translated version will be separate from the Japanese version, not an update.

ZUN : I've been reading books to compose music. I told my family I was going to be busy and reading a bunch of books, because the internet only has answers now.

Q : The name ZUN is pretty unique isn't it? Not a lot of other people have that name. ZUN : There used to be a lot, but I've eliminated them all.

ZUN : Remakes are for the younger generation. Not for nostalgia. I dislike those sorts of remakes, I don't want to make something like that. Buta : Which is why ZUN didn't want to call it a remake. ZUN : Though it is indeed a remake. (Sheepish)

ZUN : The game hasn't become any easier, but the barrier in clearing it has been reduced. (He's talking about the addition of QoL changes and challenge mode, which makes practice much easier.) (4 of 4)

ZUN : I thought about it. But if we made it so that anyone could clear it, then the people who clear it wouldn't be able to go "That took a lot of effort, it was quite fun". That's my opinion. (1 of 4)

Q : Will EoSD New Classic also have the thing whre you can't clear the game if you use continues? ZUN : I was asked by many people to reduce the difficulty, but I philosophically wanted to keep it the way it is. Buta : In other words, on Easy mode, you only go up to stage 5?

ZUN : The title for the new album was chosen from a bunch of different titles because it felt the nicest to say. Buta : And it takes place in Nara! It's super hot in Nara right now, though.

Akai Ryuusei : Some people say that ZUN might be responsible for making Japanese pianist more skilled. ZUN : Because of people like Marasy, eh? Haha!

ZUN : Playing Touhou songs live is difficult. I might be able to play the piano, but the trumpet would be a no go.

ZUN : I think my songs are more expressive when they're not in a game. I can put more emotions in them. If they're too emotional in the games, they'd be distracting. I think it's fine when it's for the last boss, though.

ZUN : I play the trumpet in band. Some songs are fun to play on trumpet some are not. The most fun song to play was the Indiana Jones theme.

Q : What happened to the ZUNpets? ZUN : The SD was completely broken, I opened it up and tried replacing the condensers, but it didn't work so I had to buy another one (secondhand). It turned out to not be a driver issue, but a hardware issue. (ZUNpets restored!)

ZUN : Since I ended up remaking all the songs for EoSD New Classic, I also made a music CD. I'm making more music than I ever have in my life, it's pretty fun making a whole bunch of music.

ZUN : I feel like there aren't a lot of dog youkai. Nothing really comes to mind. (TL note : Not counting the wolves, I think the only dogs are Aun and Enoko, but even they are debatable as Aun is half lion and Enoko is arguably also a wolf rather than a dog.)

Hirokoman : Are you a dog person or a cat person? ZUN : If I were to choose between the two I'd say cat person. Buta : Looking at Touhou... ZUN : There aren't a lot of dog characters, haha! Hirokoman : Please add some! (1 of 2).

ZUN : I love buying flowers. I often decorate my house with them and I often send my children to buy some. I give them some money and tell them to buy whatever they'd like. They often buy things that don't match well, though.
