I think I managed to decipher this game from an 1860 newspaper. It appears to use Kg for Knight and K for Rook (Kastle?!) as well as King.

Today I came across a memorial bench for my schoolfriend Paul White, who ended his career as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield University.
Perhaps my first appearance in the press, playing one of my first competitive chess games in November 1965.
