Retired solid state physicist. I specialized in simulating nanoscale devices.
I wrote this elsewhere. The kind of paid influence I'm alleging here for the Platner campaign was documented in the Tom Steyer campaign for Governor in CA. I believe that the campaign laws in CA are such that it was easier to expose payoffs in that state. Morris Katz was involved in both.
I was reminded of this from the Huffpost from a few years ago. This is not satire.
The Nazi tattooed rapist was recruited by people associated with a different Senator- Bernie Sanders. Perhaps Sanders should get another shot at it, eh?
My older brother bought an Amiga 500 in 1987. It's been 39 years, but that computer seems impressive to me now.
I've been writing that Platner might had turned into a 21st century Ted Bundy if the military didn't give him a legal outlet to express his bloodthirsty tendencies. He did multiple combat deployments because he genuinely enjoyed killing people.
This is the real Graham Platner. A man who voluntarily did multiple redeployments in combat zones because he genuinely enjoyed killing people. I think that if the miltary hadn't have given him a legal outlet for his violent tendencies, he might have become a 21st century Ted Bundy.
If you were paying attention, reading the Reddit posts and then watching him tell lies about the tattoo and just about everything else, where we are now was not a surprise. I knew he was a wolf in sheep's clothing after the first Reddit post that I saw. This one was an instant red flag...
This is the political organization started by Bernie Sanders. They are the group most responsible for the Platner campaign starting in the first place. Fuck them. Our Revolution pulls Platner endorsement: “To the Democratic establishment: this is not your opening.”
The PAC that David Hogg is associated with, Leaders We Deserve, boosted Platner. Hogg has now deleted the tweet that announced Platner's recruitment. I wonder why. "Got the best oysters I've ever had from his farm. He's the real deal and would make an incredible Senator."
Maine Dems didn't recruit him. Out of state political consultants did. The Platner campaign was astroturf initiated by well funded PACs not based in Maine.
It's a matter of extremes. How far do you want to go. It's one thing to advocate reform and/or reduction but I don't see these objectives that have been advocated by Chevalier as something that is practical or something that most voters would support:
The Klein bottle has mathematical significance and comes up in the field of topology,
Chevalier is a crank. People are trying to pass these sorts of unhinged beliefs off as "youthful indiscretions" that she no longer holds, but current interviews indicate that she's still a true believer. A socialist answer to MTG or Randy Fine.
While the company hired to do the job was subpar, the unrealistic deadline was a big reason for this fiasco. Not enough time being allowed to pass for the coating to adequately cure before the pool was refilled is the likely reason for the failure.
Kramer vs. Kramer is the most forgotten today, I think. Looking at the competition that year, I'd have picked Apocalypse Now for best picture, and ranked Kramer vs. Kramer at the bottom.
This was the first episode of the regular series that began in Sept. 1971. It is not the pilot. While there was a made for TV movie in 1968 called Prescription Murder which introduced Falk as Columbo, the true pilot that sold the series was Ransom For a Dead Man, which aired on March 1, 1971.
Superman Public Service Announcement from 1949. These were quite common in the comics up until the 1970s.
