Regarding Paolo's Vol. 4 # 1.50 cover, he placed my name very prominently near DD's head, which is curious especially since I'm the least famous DD penciler mentioned on this tribute cover.
I had a great time at Micro Comic Con. I shared a table with writer Jad Kaado. Many thanks to Yulia and the 3BR staff for organizing this event.
Thanks Patch! I appreciate your input. I'll leave it up to others to decide, but I find it flattering and am not reacting negatively in any way. My Daredevil #373 cover is the earliest free fall image of Daredevil as far as I'm aware. I believe these covers were influenced by mine.
My friend came across Daredevil # 506 vol.2 and thought it was my DD issue. Apparently Paolo Rivera did an earlier homage to my DD #373 cover in 2010, before his later homage to my cover on the DD 50th anniversary tribute cover. Vol. 4 # 1.50
Micro Comic Con is coming up next Saturday 8/1. I'll be tabling at Sun Moon Studios in Keyport 12-5pm. Come visit if you're in the area!
I'll be tabling at the 3rd annual Micro Comic Con, Saturday August 1st in Keyport, NJ 12pm-5pm. Artist's alley in Sun Moon Studio.
I had a great time being on the Dr. Masque Un-masked live stream tonight! www.youtube.com/live/GrLxpDH...
My old friend Carlos Montanez inked this Ash pinup that I penciled for Joe Quesada in 1996, as an ink sample. I put a lot of effort into this piece, because it was for Joe Q. who is my favorite modern age comic artist. Unfortunately I don't think it was ever published.
Daniel Alvarez did an amazing job on the colors for my recent pencil comission. Inks: Bud LaRosa This is the cover to my publisher Joel Thurman's thesis paper entitled “Making Heroes: DC Comics, Child Welfare, and the Construction of the Orphan”.
I've made it to the Top 5 for Johnny Depp's the People's Artist competition. I'd greatly appreciate it if you would vote for me in this final elimination round. peoplesartist.org/2026/richie-...

I've been selected for Johnny Depp's contest to appear in Artforum Magazine, and to exhibit my art at The Art of Elysium’s Salon in Los Angeles!
Marvel veteran inker Bud LaRosa inked my Speedy comission. This is the cover to my publisher Joel Thurman's thesis paper entitled “Making Heroes: DC Comics, Child Welfare, and the Construction of the Orphan”.
All 3 comparisons of my Daredevil #373 pages (1998) and my concept covers (2024). I always intended to redraw these 3 panels in greater detail. It only took 26 years to get around to it! 😅
I learned that John Byrne would swipe his own artwork, which gave me the idea to swipe an internal panel from my Daredevil #373 issue to create this concept cover that I sell as prints at shows.
Gene Colan is my favorite comic artist and my main artistic influence. His work on Tomb of Dracula inspired me as a child to become a comic artist. My Daredevil concept cover (right) was an unintentional homage to Gene Colan's Daredevil: Widow's Kiss Epic Collection cover.
This is a collage of my Daredevil #373 cover, credits page, and Daredevil concept covers featuring Mr. Fear. Inkers: Bud LaRosa, Chis Arieswendha, Faris
This is my most popular print that I sell at shows. I have a color version, but also sell small b&w prints. Inker: Bud LaRosa
This is the credits page that I penciled for Daredevil #373. Unfortunately I never got the original art back from Marvel, so I comissioned a digital inker recreate it.
This is a commission I penciled for Joel Thurman, Writer/Creator of DisinterComics My good friend Bud Larosa will be inking it soon. I'm excited to be working with him again!
I worked on Besprinkled with Scarlet; an Edgar Allan Poe anthology, published by Dr. Masque Inker: Daniel Alvarez Support #indiecomics
My updated collage of sketch covers I've drawn to sell at conventions.
I created this Moon Knight sketch cover as an homage to Neal Adams.
I really should frame this someday, but this will have to do for now 😅
Its #portfolioday! I'm a former Marvel penciler (Daredevil #373) This is my recent work from the last year for Blue Shack Comics, Lenovations Press, Disinter Comics, and Dr. Masque.
