I had noticed this years ago by watching The Amazing Race. As I armchair travel by browsing Google Earth, I am astounded by the amount of English that is contained in signage in foreign countries. Here, for example, are a couple of random signs that I saw while exploring Baghdad in Iran.
Would you agree that the past hour at the White House Correspondents Dinner was scarier than any horror movie you have ever seen?
This CLAIMS to be correct as of today! BUT: I thought Andrew was toast. No? And what about Harry? Didn’t he basically forfeit? Would someone with more royal family savvy than I have help me out here? I hate ambiguity. They have this mapped out for hundreds of people, right? Or is it thousands?
In the 1960s, I was given the impression that the major world issue we would be grappling with during the next several decades was overpopulation. How exactly did those concerns fall by the wayside? I for one never see this discussed anymore. Are we in a worldwide state of denial about all that now?
Well, I’m confused. In the 50s and 60s they beat into me the concept that the American dream was that people from all over the world could consider us a welcoming sanctuary. When exactly did that concept get jettisoned? I never got the memo.
This photo triggered dormant memories of patrol boys, some of whom wielded their power like mini-Barney Fifes. Did girls just stuff their outrage that they couldn’t be patrol boys or did they not want to be anyway? (1/3)
There are 109 days until Election Day 2026, which takes place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Are you watching this? The energy is insane and may levitate the city. This should be the official America 250 celebration right here, right now, in a hotbed of hope. What a party.
Are you watching this? Is this not madness? Any dementia experts in the house? In the 60s, when an old guy on my block babbled like this, we said “That man is a cuckoo bird.”
Things that actually happen are wackier than any satiric musings. They put up a tarp so we can’t see the letters being ripped off the building. This thwarts footage that would have been golden in political ads!
I think what terrifies me is not when words like this come out of his mouth! I think what terrifies me is that 50 people in the room don’t immediately say “This is insanity!”
Rick Tries to Keep Up So is this a new thing now, perhaps because people aren’t buying DVDs?
Is he now incapable of answering questions at a podium? You know, like every other President did?
Is this basically going to feel like Spartacus without Stanley Kubrick directing Kirk Douglas?
This is my beloved Kasie Hunt. #CNN I have been a fan since she was a rookie reporter with sweat rolling from her brow as she literally ran down corridors of Congress trying to get those schmucks to answer an occasional question. While it lasted, “Kasie D.C.” had become a Sunday night habit of mine.
Like it or not, the Internet shows us what others are thinking & how they perceive things! #JerryMathers this one is for you!
