Realized I haven't touched my sketchbook since I got my booth assignment for OCF. Fixing that today. No references other than the memory of watching a bear pass by my camp the other night, and memories of pride a month back.

The thing I had planned in question. Hanging out with the guys, conducting space warfare. I was orange. I normally hold my own better, but I over-invested in technology and got smashed, hence the war-sun that lasted about a turn after this. The game took about twelve hours, fushia won.

Doodled my friend's dog as it ran around the yard, somewhat because I wanted to thank her for letting me stay for a few nights, somewhat as a decompression from OCF exercise. I wanna do moody ink drawings, but I have to say I'm kinda in a colored-pencil mood more often than not these days.

I got into the Oregon Country Fair with my jewelry! By far the biggest thing I've ever been juried into! I spent a few years of Oregon and a summer in Eugene, so excited to see it again. I traded some of my first wraps for stones at the Saturday market over ten years ago.

Someone requested turquoise, so I went on a special hunt for it this show. Turquoise does come from the southwest, but these are from China.

My friend brought me the chalcedony rose at the top, so I made a piece to remind me of the passion I feel in the Sonoran desert, and the lessons it's taught me. I did more things this season that frightened me than I have since I started traveling. Feeling that Datura energy, I suppose.

I started sewing for a company that weaves their own fabric in house. I have never been more excited for a job. I'm so thrilled to know that I can work a sewing machine with ease at this point, I want to wear everything I make. I love handmade, and am so happy it's become my life.

I love love love hearing the coyotes at night! I know I have a romanticized opinion of them, but they calm me so much. WIP- being topical. Looking through an ICE tracking page and realized I missed them while running errands by one change in decision yesterday and feeling all sorts of things.

I have been in pet portrait land for the past few weeks when not working Christmas retail. It has been lovely, but not a lot to show yet. Here's a sketch I'm excited to paint.

My friend I'm living with gets MASSIVELY ILL from gluten, so we've been playing with substitutes for baked goods this season. This King Arthur flour works really well for cookies and pancakes thus far!

Hi I was just about to post the same thing, lol. Sawyer's one of the only water filter brands at Academy Outdoors/Walmart (it seems, from my limited experience) so they're quickly accessible, but yeah, that bag is rough to use.

My friend is letting me paint in his basement, so I have entrenched and am busy experimenting! I have a friend asking for a pet portrait and I've got a few other exciting things.

I posted a pancake recipe a few months back, and I'm sorry but it was VASTLY INFERIOR to this one. The other one got too liquidy and needed some fluff, these ones are perfect and fluffy every time. Best I've made. All the best recipes are handwritten and passed among friends on scrap paper.

Morning practice. Realizing that obsessively drawing circles and trying to perfect them as a kid paid off. I've always struggled with the traditional advice with drawing heads of attaching a face and jaw to the front of a circle, so I think the next few days I want to work with that.

Ripped my most easily wearable pants on a hike with friends, and then spent the next few weeks making this unhinged patch. Was mostly curious if I could make somewhat realish sketches witg string. Delighted with the result.
