Still hard at work on Starways, but I took a little break today to sketch the villain from another game I'd love to make someday. Meet Lord Xaxar: galactic emperor, professional narcissist, and the kind of boss who keeps HR working overtime.

I don't talk about this much, but my mom was diagnosed with early-onset FTD a few years ago and it's been hard. She used to say, in her most stereotypical Jewish Mother voice "call your mother, she's very worried." and I would, often. But not today. If you still talk to your mom, take her advice.

I haven't talked about it much here, but my mom was diagnosed with bvFTD. I showed her Starways yesterday and how the art is inspired by her paintings. And for just a moment, there was a spark of recognition. "This is beautiful, Riley. I'm so proud of you". I miss my mom. But this is for her.

We already had one and it was peak.

Best blorbo. Peak scrimblo. Totally adorable. Utterly merciless. I friggin' love Paint Gal so much I drew a crossover with Super Sketch Bob. Similar sibling dynamic, similar chaos energy, similar art style, it just felt right.
