🖼️ I exhibited my first game at Dissonance 不穏! I remade the game from scratch for this event, worked with Matsurika LLC for the Japanese localisation and made an interactive sheet for people to write what their favourite train station is 🚆

As a result of my own hubris and insanity, I completely remade the game from scratch and localised it into Japanese. I love Meet Me At Shinjuku Station, it’s the first game I ever made two years ago - but I wanted to challenge myself.

The passive strategy fails, my pile of Vaans are ignored. With 10 minutes left of our reservation, I cave and ask them ‘Hey.. do you like Squall 🥹?’. I show them my tattoos. They freak out and say how lucky it is we sat next to each other. We trade my Pixel Remaster for their Squall. The end 🫶🏻

The table next to us has Squall. I eavesdrop and their conversation tells me they don’t want him. I don’t know how to approach so I just display ALL our coasters like a freak in hopes it catches their eye and they decide to initiate a swap.

My face when we do not get a single Squall coaster despite ordering 7 items. @patricktjohnson.bsky.social literally pulls 3 Vaan coasters - didn’t know it was humanly possible to be this unlucky 🪦
