We spent time in western Oklahoma in the Caddo County canyons looking for archaeological sites before state park construction of new campsites.

Our Manuscript for the 2022-2023 field season at Oaklawn Cemetery in Tulsa is out and on the City of Tulsa website. We will be back out this fall to continue grave investigations of victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
Our Oklahoma Archeological Survey research staff spent the first of five weeks at the Spiro Mounds in Oklahoma.

Fieldwork in south-central Oklahoma examining buried soils and collecting samples to radiocarbon date. Helps us interpret where we are most likely to find buried archaeological sites. Sometimes it means getting out feet wet. 🤣
