"Just grow your own food!" After 3 months, this was the whole broccoli harvest. Multiple plants, and this was the only thing any of them produced. It'll make a nice stir-fry addition, but that's it. Just ripped them out to make room for this autumn's radishes.
Pssst. You. Yes, you. Are you in Massachusetts*? Do you or someone you know need a reputable, reasonably priced electrician with more than 2 decades of experience? Then you're in luck! I have just the man for the job! *Yes, all of it.
Soon, I'll have a small assortment of little sporelings to sell. The problem? I haven't got the foggiest what to price them at, as the usual market research locations have similar items with prices all over the map. Not helping.
Met a smol frend at work today. It's a lacewing larva and they're very welcome to hang out, since they eat aphids and other small "pest" insects. #insects #lacewing #TalesFromTheGreenhouse
Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.
Hey Texas folks! A dear friend's brother is missing, last known whereabouts living semi-rough in some woods near Dallas. (I don't have the hand function to retype everything for alt-text today. If someone else wants to take a stab at it, please do.)
My cell had zero signal whatsoever (emergency calls only), and the only signs of humans were the occasional dilapidated old farms and the odd sheep. Also a creepy shack that I did NOT stop to photograph.
Interesting day. Drove along a highway that can barely be called a road somewhere west of Satan's Kingdom, wondering if I'd need to light a Babylon candle to find my way back home...
Had the boys out on the porch getting some fresh air before the next wave of smoke rolls in. Looked up from my book to see them clustered up, staring outside. Carefully got up to see who was visiting, and carefully wrangled them inside without startling the skunk that was 4 feet away from us.
There are two more that are almost ready to harvest, at least a dozen that are about an inch or two long, and, well...
The cleaning crew has been hard at work this morning. #caturday #catsofbluesky
How dare you come for me in my own home like this, Steam? 🤣
In today's Adventures In Home Ownership: WTF Were Previous Owners Thinking, I present... the office light fixture.
Trying to remember how to knit, after over a year of crocheting. Not the worst job I've done, but I clearly need more practice! 🤣
He's right behind me, isn't he? #blackcatsofbluesky #catsofbluesky
Sitting on the porch, crocheting little mushroom friends, while the cats chase each other around. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
First harvest from the garden today! Some lettuce leaves and wasabina mustard greens.
Apparently these are springtails, and they're a sign that my garden soil is full of decaying material and probably a bit overly damp thanks to all the rain lately. (If they're not, someone more knowledgeable than me let me know.)
