Should be a beautiful night tonight, for the Ottawa Lebanese Festival (750 Ridgewood Avenue, across from Mooney's Bay Park). Last night I had dinner with Coun Hill and this afternoon, a soggy time with Coun Leiper. The Festival concludes tomorrow night.
Visited every household this afternoon on Harrold Place, checking in with residents about the current integrated watermain and road renewal project.
Thx for CAWI (City for All Women Initiative) for hosting tonight's safety walk over the Juno Beach Bridge and along the Sawmill Creek MUP to South Keys Station. Many good suggestions received to improve safety.
Riverside Drive WB lanes are closed as of this week, from Data Centre Road to Neil Way (near Pleasant Park Road). During this closure, one lane of traffic in each direction will be redirected via a temporary road to use Riverside Dr EB. In place until August 31.

Last night I co-hosted the Carlington Community Safety Night, with the Ottawa Police Service. The OPS provided an overview of community policing, including the NRT, updates on their proactive work on local crime matters and explained community-based programs to participate in.

Spoke with 100 or so engaged and knowledgeable junior division students this morning at W E Gowling PS. We discussed the role of municipal government, local and City-wide projects and why they should care and engage in local issues. A really smart bunch of students!

Starting this week...Sawmill Creek Toe Stabilization This project involves reinforcing approximately 30m of the westerly slope of the Sawmill Creek constructed wetland, as well as repaving a section of the adjacent multi-use pathway.
Today we honoured three brave children for their role in using 9-1-1 during emergency situations. It was heartfelt to hear each situation and how each girl reacted calmly, with purpose, to ensure emergency care would be provided. Congratulations!
This afternoon I attended a community vigil for the late Peter Clark, Barrhaven crossing guard, taken way too soon. May his kindness, community spirit and genuine love of his job be his legacy.
