Husband. Father. EMT. Teacher. Polyglot. Writer of likely banned books. Planter of trees, keeper of bees, and lover of cheese. Oh, and one more thing I just found out: CANADIAN!
Anyway, I was glad to meet the young couple renewing their vows. I hope they left Sevilla with some good memories, - some of them provided by the erstwhile American doing his best to bring some light into the world. /fin
Ted, explaining to Louisa why he didn’t stay in the home where he and the closest friend he’d ever had lived after his friend died. Fredrik Backman, My Friends
Been a while since I've been on the front page around here. The young journalist did a very good job on this piece.
The tone of my writing can change dramatically depending on the book I choose for some morning reading.
I am becoming one of those writers who loves and plays hard, but also sits in a quiet corner of a bar, sipping Vino Blanco, while watching, listening, and hearing.
This note, from a French-speaking Métis friend in Manitoba, is what writers live for.
Thanks to Four Pines Bookstore for hosting my book opening/signing last night!
This book is extraordinary. A good friend in Stockholm (who has read my books) strongly recommended that I read it. One of the main themes is a friendship developing between a teenager and an older person. Have water or tea handy to stay hydrated.
Winnipeg and the Festival du Voyageur were wonderful as always. On vous aime ben fort Canada!
My publisher, Calumet Editions, put out an emergency call to all our writers for pieces on resistance. I have a poem in the book and am looking forward to seeing what y fellow Minnesotans created. Thanks for supporting local artists and the Minnesota resistance! www.amazon.com/dp/196283468...
Hearing the same talking point from MAGA Minnesotans: "The new Minnesota flag looks like the Somali flag!!!" Very subtle. Wrack your brain and see if somehow, by some miracle, you can see the difference. (MAGA Minnesota decided they liked the *old* flag when they found out it was racist)
This isn't over, but Minnesota will NEVER stop fighting for our freedoms. #IceOut #MinnesotaStrong
The tortilla took so long to cook, it's no longer breakfast so, ya know, adapting.
