Ten weeks old. Came to Victoria via Bakersfield, California where there is a kitten surplus. Tiny and fiesty.
Dinner at the Smuggler's Cove pub in Cadboro Bay where it's a good thing I'm not a soccer fan because the view of the TV is not ideal #saanich
Sourpuss face? Head to Oak Bay where the craftsmen at Jerome's will apply their looksmaxxing skills to make you into the finest baddie on the Avenue. #oakbay
I’m reading this book which is a science fiction fantasy because it’s about Republicans risking everything to make life better for people of colour.
Spotted @thomasguerrero.bsky.social heading to Christ Church Cathedral so I buttonholed him into briefing me on the church's plan to redevelop some of the underused portions of their vast property. Hoping to hear his opinion once he learns more about it. #yyj
April 2014 vs July 2025. Vast improvement; traffic still flows, the world didn't end.
Oops…boat fell off trailer as it crossed bike path. Blenkinsop at Mt Doug Cross Rd. #saanich
I am pleased to announce I am running for Victoria City Council in the November 2026 municipal election. Some have commented that being a Saanich resident is a problem but Victoria's problems are from councillors not seeing the forest for the trees. Being an outsider, I see the forest. #yyj
Funny, I've heard a lot about the Summer Games; Jesse Owens and all that but not much about that year's Winter Games. From the Vancouver Province:
I did this poster a while back--it's not Trad, it's Trad by Mark Doherty. It's his work, of course his name is there.
Here's the inside of the fake movie ambulance. On the left are jars of drugs. I slid open the cabinet to look and the biggest jar said Methadone 900 ml. I unscrewed the lid and it was empty of course.
Years ago I got a job on a Lifetime TV series painting props and I spent some time snooping around the prop shop set up in the abandoned Sears Automotive Centre at Hillside Mall. Here's a fake ambulance: #yyj
Oct. 17, 1961 Vancouver Sun: 2026 is Doomsday if we don't get the population explosion under control. Colonizing space may be the only option. #2026
Years before "The Sound of Music" Victorians learned the story of the Von Trapp family. The last surviving child, Johannes, the youngest child of Maria and the Captain is 86. He lived for a time at a ranch in British Columbia in the late 1970s.
It's no co-incidence that Mr. Peanut (aka Vincent Trasov) announced his Vancouver mayoral candidacy a few weeks after Ford pardoned Nixon. Trasov was inspired to run when he realized his friend John Mitchell had the same name as Nixon's AG. The Vancouver Mitchell became Mr. Peanut's spokesman.
Another 2008 idea, this one is pretty close to what was built: note the location of the stage behind the MacPherson. Also note, Geoff young gets his E&N station:
One of the three 2008 ideas shown here has a large stage and seating area and a place for a seasonal market in front of the fountain.
OK #yyj I took this photo of the ceiling of a well-known building in the heart of Downtown Victoria. Where is it?
Years ago I was rummaging in a garbage pile inside the abandoned Sears Automotive Centre at Hillside Mall in Victoria and found this 1988 original hand-drawn coffee-stained Bob Krieger editorial cartoon. 🖌️ Theme is timeless. @kriegercartoons.bsky.social #bcpoli
Again, BC right wingers are going off about how they think Indigenous people should be grateful for being civilized. #bcpoli
Derived from indoor baseball, and popular with military officers and others during the off season, softball exploded in popularity 100 years ago. #softball
