Yknow, sometimes I think carrying a half ton of books up the stairs may mean I have too many books and comics. Then I pull those dirty thoughts out, shove em in a bottle and throw that bottle into the ocean, where the deep may claim their filth.
Bake bread, no joke, learning to bake and cook has been the easiest way for me to learn to make friends. Video games were a cool entry point, but bread is the true path. If someone says “I wish I could bake bread,” bubby, you’re in.

Finished reading Roadside Picnic. The ancestor to much of exclusion zone and liminal fiction, it’s like finding a missing link in the genetic lineage of much of my favorite games and series. First book of the year, and a good start to rebuilding my reading habits.

We need to move away from digital coloring of blacks. Part of anime’s mood and aesthetic we’ve been chasing has been lost to the fact that digital can represent a “true black.” Old celluloid animation had to imitate it with darker hues of blues, greens and magentas and so much character is lost now
Spent a day disconnecting from the world for a bit. Made cashew butter and put together a Junji Ito puzzle
