Bought some old Dreamwatch magazines. Found this - one of my first pieces of published writing. Sorry, Paul. Should have been 10/10. Don’t know what I was thinking. #doctorwho
Loved The Bride. Why didn’t people like it? Mad and colourful and passionate and playful and gross.
I remember seeing this in WH Smith’s at the time. A novelisation of the movie of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. At last! I can read about the events of the movie!
Delighted and surprised by how good "Legends" is. The title was offputting at first, suggesting some kind of swords-and-sandals quest. But it makes sense in the context of the show. Thrilling, well acted and written with real wit and heart.
Dear God, “Half Man” is quite something isn’t it? Can’t remember the last time I felt so many competing emotions and thoughts. And what a pair of central performances.
Arranged this lovely little display while the football was happening. Yes, I’m a cliche. But look at them!
Sky’s Rik Mayall documentary has led me to dig out “Rik Mayall Presents…” It’s all new to the wife. At first she thought it was a series of connected episodes, and I think you should all praise me for correcting this misapprehension, when it would have been funnier not to.
This is currently on the Channel 4 app, which should be called “4play” but isn’t. It’s wonderful and sad and beautiful and I recommend it.
Having the nicest evening a) reworking narrative while b) rewatching Star Trek: the Next Generation. I also have pretzels.
Think I might get really into Star Trek. Spent yesterday watching loads of Next Gen, for the first time since the 90s. Had such a nice time.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Hunt the hare and turn her down And Epstein didn’t kill himself…
An excellent day of television. I did go out in the sun for a bit, I promise.
Watched “World Enough and Time” again tonight. I know you already know, but… my God it’s good. Doctor Who is ace.
Absolute bobbins. Some clever ideas, and obviously well made. Bit utterly incomprehensible in narrative terms. The stakes were impossible to engage with and it’s clear they hadn’t really worked out the logic. Bill and Ted did it better.
Project Hail Mary is as good as everyone says. But Cineworld had 35 minutes of trailers beforehand. How the hell do they expect to compete against streaming with this kind of dickhead behaviour?
Yes! Be impressed with my patience, everyone. I’ve waited for the paperback of John Higgs’s “Exterminate Regenerate”, holding off until now even though I’m ludicrously excited about it. And here it is. A reward for my good works.
Just finished playing Atomfall. I absolutely loved it. The most absorbed in a game world I’ve been in years.
/puts hand up/ Is the three months added to my total saving? Or does that mean my brain ends up 2 years 9 months younger? What if I do it for six months? Can I eventually have the brain of my ancestors?
