Wishlist Bumper Bout! Rocco 🎮 Solo Indie Game Developer based in Brisbane Australia. Currently making Bumper Bout.
I have occasionally had the suggestion for 4 player Bumper Bout and I've always been like no no one thing at a time it wouldnt fit I couldn't. This is a slippery slope.
Factory was playable for the first time at QLD Games Fest. This level is complex but it was a hit. Players hit balls in to the spinners in the middle which charge their power bank, the conveyor at the top moves in the direction of the higher power delivering goodies. #indiegame #gamedev #indiedev
Reassuring that early on I found the hard CPU too hard to beat 90% of the time, but as I become more familiar with the best strategy for each level It's become much closer. The game genuinely feels easy to pick up hard to master which I'm really proud of! #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame
I've updated the default art for Redjack. (left old, right new) It better fits my new style and his more recent attack portrait. I really like it! He has so much charm and seems calm and bold at the same time. #indiegame #indiedev #art #characterart
Stop you can't make your pinball a character. No. Stop. Uh oh. #art #characterart #indiedev #indiegame
I literally am here taking photos of my hands and I still can't get it right it's like, hey that's not what hands look like. Wait, what's wrong with my hands? 😱
A couple of images I made for desk stands at the upcoming Queensland Games Festival.
Bumper Bout is playable at Supanova Sydney this weekend! PvP Pinball to settle the score. Pick the stage, your character, then unleash their super power to take home the trophy. Let me know if you get to play it! @supanovaexpo.bsky.social #indiedev #indiegame
After building the models I needed, I made a rudimentary flipper script and set up some colliders so the ball wouldn't escape, it became clear to me the shape needed to change to facilitate the sort of gameplay I wanted to create, so I landed on this design you see here which is still used today.
I've been a busy bee preparing a massive push for the QLD Games Festival, and in preparing some designs for the show floor I stumbled across this, which was the first thing I ever made for the game. I had the idea while driving to work, then made this as soon as i got home. It's come a long way.
Tonight my 4yo asked me to model a robot for Bumper Bout, so we did together. Makes this guy just a little more special.
