We are the only registered Columbia Sheep farm in Maine! We have a Halal slaughter area and tools available for our customers. Rockin' Sheep Farm also sells raw fleece, roving, yarn, and dryer balls plus soaps and blacksmith items.
I am finally skirting my fleeces! I will have a ton of belly/waste wool if someone is looking for insulation or to mulch their plants. Please message me. The picture is from one fleece; I have 15 to go.
A return to normal life! I haven’t been able to enjoy cooking in months! We can finally relax.
We have now left the farm we loved for 15. My sheep are in one town and we are in another. This too shall pass. I’ll post more tomorrow. We are exhausted.
Shepherds! The trip to Bucks County Fur Products has been delayed a week. We will be going down July 2-4. The temporary housing we are in has a showing this Saturday. Maybe, sometime, normal life will resume. Sorry for the delay.
It is time for the next trip to Bucks County Fur Products. The pelts dropped off this winter should be done in another week. We will be leaving on June 25th. Please message me if you have pelts to go down so I can tell you where to drop them off. Same as always, $10 a pelt round trip.
Ya know, sometimes, life is just not fair. Not only has the landlord just told us he’s filing eviction paperwork tomorrow, but we found out early this morning that one of Patty’s brothers died last night. It’s getting very difficult to have a positive outlook on anything.
With the lovely weather coming in this weekend, pasture work has been delayed till next weekend. We’re going to work in the garage this weekend. Any good packers out there are welcome to join us!
Almost done! Can anyone help me out this Sunday? I have a bit more wire to pull then to use the tractor and pull the wood posts out of the ground. The landlord is hassling us. How many farmers can pull out of their farm in 10 weeks? For the most part, by themselves? This is ridiculous.
I cannot thank Ann, Tami, Owen, and Stan for coming out and helping us this weekend get most of the pasture fence picked up. Still have a lot to do but, wow! Back to inside packing during rainy days. Hopefully, I can get the posts out of the ground next weekend.
What goes up, must come down! Looking for some volunteers to help out this Saturday. I need to take down the pasture fence. I have the tools to get all the posts out the ground. Need folks to take insulators off the posts and wind up the fencing wire to go to the salvage yard. RSVP, I’ll feed you!
Many thanks to Paul at Windy Ridge Fiber Farm for boarding my flock. This is one of the hardest days I’ve had in a very long time. All the sheep are now off our farm. I just pray and hope that I can get our new farm financed and we can all be together again. Greedy people upend families and lives.
Many thanks to blacksmith brother, Jay, for helping to get all the ironwork loaded this morning. The wood cook stove, forge, anvil, and wood shop stove are all up in the trailer. Hate thinking about not being able to use them for quite some time.
Gotten to the point where we can’t pack anymore because of the boxes in the house. This should cure that problem! Anyone want to help?
This was a pleasant surprise this afternoon! Let me introduce you to Eugene, son of Caeley. Maybe it’s a sign of good things to come.
It has been a rough new year here on the farm. Yesterday, Lily left us. She was the matriarch of the flock and one of the last Kaylin named from the Harry Potter books. She was so thin from liver disease. It was for her best but I will so miss her need for back scratches every time she saw me.
Shearing has been delayed to this afternoon due to the ice on…everything! Please message me if you were planning on coming.
Happy 6th birthday to our best ever guard dog, Liam! He’s a leap puppy!
Getting old sucks! Got a torn retina yesterday and headed down to Mass General today for surgery. Thank God for wonderful friends who helped with feeding the flock today. Now, Dave down for the next week.
