Actually had this as a Planescape concept. The Thief, a scoundrel who'll rob you for fun but feels empathy for the poor and downtrodden. The Knight, an aspiring hero who fears that he'll never outlive his past. The Sorcerer, an egotist who lies as easily as breathing but yearns for friendship.

Iris is a former adapter for Oblivion. They dress in Everkeep civilian attire more often than their Oblivion uniform. Their actual career is 3D art and virtual game development. They don't prefer combat, but they're a decent kallitechnis, using an electrope brush-staff and personal tablet terminal.

Considering having Iris join the Students of Baldesion. Seems like an easy pivot to make and sensible for their character.

Iris uses any/all pronouns and I mean it. People keep defaulting to she/her because their look leans femme and that feels limiting. If you wanna spark joy in me, hit Iris with any neopronouns. Or use different pronouns in the same sentence. Try it/its for a bit. I promise you, it's okay.

To Caedes, Bhaal is regression: the childish simplicity of "death" as an answer to the complex question of life, a shirking of the responsibility of conscience. To accept Him is to kill the self and be cut, disfigured, and reshaped into what Bhaal desires, just a thing to be used.

Even without Bhaal, Caedes has special affinity for Bloodthirst. Having stripped it of the Netherstone and purged himself of the Urge, the dagger has taken on a new life outside of its intended purpose, much like him. It's also a bound weapon, so he can throw it and it'll return to his hand.

The original idea for Caedes was a Barbiebarian sort of joke but as I pared him down I ended up landing on someone who, if not for the red eyes, black eye makeup, self-inflicted scarification, and Abyssal tattoos, could pass for a somewhat-normal fantasy protagonist design.

Caedes is 39 at the start, though he looks to be somewhere in his 20s and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future due to being a Bhaalspawn.

I do genuinely believe that Caine feared abandonment, but he also cannot appreciate that others might feel that way, too. His view of the world is entirely self-centered, he cannot see others' emotions and needs as equal to his own.

I think one of the most important bits of characterization Caine gets in Episode 8 is that, despite not wanting to feel abandoned, he also left Kinger isolated in the circus for nine years and Kinger can't even remember his own name when Ragatha shows up. He didn't seek love, he sought admiration.
