Making my way through the Booker longlist and my third title is the first that is actually holding my attention.

We (and by we I mean my dad while I sat and watched) planted lavender in the garden a few summers ago and it's since grown quite large. Lots of bee action! 🐝

One very happy bookseller that is thoroughly enjoying Daniel Harbour's upcoming book, The Book of Lost Languages. Out in October. 😁

I'm on my way home after a very successful day in UCD presenting my current thesis chapter - how genre is a beneficial framework alongside gender and queer theory in analysing masculinities in Saints' Lives. ☀️

Had a splendid time selling books at the Lesbian Lives conference this evening. A lovely panel on queer Irish fiction with authors Chloe Michelle Howarth and Katherine O'Donnell. 💖

Day 2 of presentations was for Bookends, our school's annual postgraduate conference. Had a lovely time demonstrating the echoes of Beowulfian horror in British folk horror novels.

Had a great start to my day discussing my current thesis chapter for our research day in the School of English and Digital Humanities. 💖 Really nice sense of community today.

This very happy bookseller spent her Easter tearing through Henry Power's "Homer-Haunted", due to be published in July. This is a lesson in excellence. Power skilfully guides us through the many individuals fascinated by the work of Homer, tying his assessment into the Iliad and Odyssey. ⭐

Tonight is my first lecture on Norse mythology for UCC's Adults Continuing Education Certificate in Mythology. I've really enjoyed prepping for this class and I am looking forward to hearing their thoughts on creation myths. She's in her lecturing era. 💅🏻🎉 #MedievalSky

This small medieval church (built circa 1300) in Monkstown became a graveyard in the 1650s, when the first owners of Monkstown Castle died. It's now abandoned but it's a great spot for some peace in the evenings. #SpeirGorm #HistorySky #MedievalSky

Parenting is always a learning experience, but even more so when you grew up in an industrial school like my dad. Despite that, he's the world's best papa. Always has and always will make time for us. So, happy father's day to the best man.

A morning of thesis writing. An afternoon of castle exploring. Barryscourt Castle was built between 1392-1420. It is assumed that the previous Norman fortification from 12th cent was incorporated into this construction. It's seen great restoration work to open it to the public! #SkyGorm #MedievalSky
