I saw The Phantom Menace at an early pre-release screening. This was back when it was AMAZING that Star Wars was getting a new entry. There was some hubbub about the Star Wars special editions, but otherwise we were hype for a new Star Wars.

The Room portions of SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM. I feel like a lot of folks are locking themselves out of a choices by equating raw graphical fidelity with realism. Despite being a PS2 game, the mundanity of these sequences emphasizes the terror that gradually creeps into the space.

The titular room from Silent Hill 4: The Room. It's a grungy but otherwise normal apartment interior. Except the door, the only door, is CHAINED shut with a web of chains and locks. Written in red ink(?) on the door is "Don't go out!"

Zoom-in on the fourth picture of OP's post. It's a close-up of the outdoor jumbotron somewhere showing the Belgium-USA World Cup match. It's a little blurry, but the score clearly reads "USA: 1" and "Belgium: Some number bigger than 1" and there's... <20 minutes left in regulation(?). Not good, basically.

The soundtrack backing for my local fireworks show had the usual bottom-of-the-barrel choices. Some Top 40 classics snippets and some post-9/11 cash-in songs. But to me, it's most telling that it ends with, kick off the finale with, a single quote from a movie.

President Whitemore delivering the final line from the greatest speech by a president in a movie, from the alien incasion movie INDEPENDENCE DAY.

The Spaceguard Turret Network, or "Stonehenge", from the ACE COMBAT series. A series of gigantic railguns that were used to destroy the Ulysses asteroid. Frequently re-purposed as a ground-based massive-damage artillery for countering shields.
