She'll need to wear the cone for a week and continue the antibiotic/cortisol cream. She was so scared and upset she went fully limp in my arms at the vet. She hasn't done that since she was a tiny tiny kitten. So now we're having quiet time upstairs to recover. At least she's purring.

This evening's study buddy did a very good job. Got through all three of my lessons, and will probably do a little bit extra later tonight.

Someone left a bunch of little plastic dino toys near the car park donation box today and several were smashed/stomped to smithereens on the pavement by some jerk. I picked up an intact one in each colour to bring home and clean up. My little dinos now.

I did my nails last night and wanted to show them off and Desire seemed a likely volunteer with that pink hair. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), the photo turned out more about showing off Desire than my manicure.

PEG FEET. Genius. I'm not sure how the socks will hold up to it over time, but honestly, brilliant alternative to the usually wiggly, ugly split open back.

I will regret this tomorrow, but for today .... Second cafe I've tried this style at and while the first one was good, this one was way better. The other place didn't use as much cheese and while it was pretty and had lots of edible flowers, this one was just way yummier overall.

Trying to determine how high up her hand and gauntlet should be in reference to the frame. I don't want to block her face, but mirror the pose of her brother in the first illustration slightly, so I think this might be it? Got to finish baby's curls and the gauntlet details.

I've decided to start over on the lineart from scratch. Ever since I moved to Huion from my dead Wacom, I've been struggling with CSP randomly refusing to recognise sensitivity settings, so lines go wibbly and thickness randomises and it's been frustrating as heck. But I think I've finally fixed it.

Today's unexpected Kmart find. I left the box set I've had since third grade in the US when I moved to Australia, and have yet to have the opportunity to bring them over, so I decided I couldn't leave this behind when we came across it tonight by chance. 📚💙

A dark blue hardcover book lies on a light coloured hardwood floor. The face of a lion on a sunburst faces the audience. In gold folk, text reads "C.S. Lewis" and "The Complete Chronicles of Narnia". A round faux-seal in the right top corner reads "75th Anniversary Edition" with an illustration of Mr. Tumnus, a faun, guiding Lucy through the snow under his umbrella.

The same book from the first photograph, open to pages 188 and 189. The text of each page is arranged in two columns and bordered in green. At the top reads: "The Complete Chronicles of Narnia" and "The Horse and His Boy."

In the top left is an illustration of a group of men wearing green. Some stand with horses while a few are in their saddles. In the middle of the group is a man in a crown wearing brighter green than the others.

Text from the book is on the page as well, but too long for the Alt Text function to allow in full. I apologise. The text begins with the line: "Question him no more, Darrin," said King Lune, "I see the truth in his face. We must ride for it, gentlemen. A spare horse there, for the boy. You can ride fast, friend?"

The same book from the first two photos, now opened to pages 242 and 243, with borders in dark yellow. Text at the top of the pages reads "The Complete Chronicles of Narnia" and "Prince Caspian." The page on the left is fully devoted to an illustration of Prince Caspian surrounded by a gathering of Narnian inhabitants. His back is to the viewer, and he is surrounded by rabbits, badgers, centaurs, fauns, and all manner of other creatures and animals. They all watch figures in the distance approach through what appears to be trees.

The page to the right is full text from the book, but too long for Bluesky's Alt text limit. It begins with the line: "Everyone waited in silence while the three Dwarfs and two Badgers trotted stealthily across to the trees on the north-west side of the Lawn."

I always draw Chizuru's collars too loose/low in front, so I'll fix that later (I always forget when I'm sketching, because so many of the men in this game are pretty slovenly. Okita, close your shirt).

I often avoid drawing Chizuru's face (by drawing her facing away from the viewer, or hiding behind her hands or something), because I'm not confident that I make her cute enough. So I downloaded a 3D reference model to see if I can practice making her cuter, and might've gone too far. 😅

Trying to convince myself to worry less about perfectionism by using an intentionally janky brush (described as a leaky fountain pen nib) and I'm not sure it's working. lol

The back of the kalimba's instruction sheet also came with some music. HELL!

A small sheet of paper with musical notation for a Kalimba. The songs are notated by the number of the bar/key meant to be played.

The left-side song is entitled HELL by G.E.M (credited to Kiyomi as the song-writer). The lyrics under the musical notation read "you take me to hell, from heaven I fell" with the remainder of the lyrics in Chinese.

The songs on the right are written entirely in Chinese, but the second one appears to be "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" based on the notes.

My partner has been borrowing my computer to play games on Steam while I'm busy with Pokopia or studying. I came back to this tonight. 😂 I have several small dolls that sit on my desk, and it turns out he enjoys playing with them, too. 🖤

So now I'm considering revisiting some of these, either to redo them or add to the three months worth of daily doodles I managed to complete.

A few years ago, I made an account on Twitter for the doodles I was drawing while replaying Hakuoki at the time. My friend is playing through the game for the first time, and I'm revisiting those doodles. I re-made that account here to keep going with the drawings, but ... uh ... kind of gave up.

Fairly sure the cough is morphing into pneumonia, so sleeping on the couch with a certain someone to avoid keeping my partner up all night with my pacing and hacking. She really dislikes my coughing interrupting her sleep, too.

Something I saw on my last trip to China and was determined to find again was this translation of the Hobbit. It came with a copy of the original publisher's notes (also translated), three postcard sized illustrations and the bookmark below.

Sometimes I just ... can't ... with Australiana kitsch. This was left on a donation bin near the shops. Said bin is intended for clothing, toys, and bed linens, and go to a shelter for women and families escaping DV. People just dump the weirdest shit there, though.
