Paul Simon’s Obvious Child makes me wistful at the best of times. Today ‘I’m with her’’s cover version popped into my headphones and it destroyed me. Actually howling on the floor.

Listening to the new Patrick Wolf single: the beast / laughing dove. I don’t buy many 7”s so they always seem a bit fiddly to cue up smoothly. When I was a kid I used to play singles on my gran’s 60s deck - it was automatic, but used to drop the stylus down without a care (and occasionally miss! 🥶)

I recently found an early copy of Alan Garner’s Elidor with Keeping illustrations very much in that gothic, heavy lined style. As I say, I find them very evocative *now* but I did not care for work like that much as a kid. I much preferred clarity!
Very much enjoying You are Not Alone from @tenacrebooks.bsky.social (although I keep stopping to look up what various actor boyfriends looked like). A fascinating gay social history of TV Who featuring many people whose life stories have previously either been obscure or only coyly alluded to.
