I'm thinking about my father today on his birthday. He joined the Royal Navy in his teens, just before WWII, and saw action all through the war. He met my mother during a two-week survivors' leave after his ship was sunk. He was wounded on D-Day while ferrying troops ashore. Rest In Peace, Dad.
My youngest daughter—cat lady/bird nerd Gwen—near the Great Salt Lake yesterday. Her cat Pixie is in her backpack carrier, also watching birds. 😊

Today is the 33rd anniversary of “The Great Blizzard of ‘93”—which at the time was billed as the “Storm of the Century.” It shut down our entire area for days. Here’s a picture I took of our daughter Railey standing in a snow trench a few days after the blizzard.
