Pac Man is now doing official long plays of Pac-Man games for their Youtube channel. I know @caffeinedreamer.bsky.social was really pushing for this kind of thing on SEGA Forever. There are long plays already on YouTube — why not make official ones?
Only knew of @jeffgerstmann.com's 8-bit Nintendo Science one he went through all 751 games, but now I'm hooked. 8bitnintendo.science
Which led to games like Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, Fish out of Water & Colossatron. No publisher would have taken a chance on Fruit Ninja! While there is an impossible amount of games now.. they're finding more audiences than before. I would have never thought Meccha Chameleon would blow up.
Their first indie games were because Xbox Live Indie games existed, letting Echoes & Blast Off to live, which led to PSP Minis ports and Age of Zombies. Even Raskulls was a game that started as a PC game, then for DS, then MS came and asked for an XBLA version.
Not without a lack of trying - they pitched their own IP Fuzz & Rocket, but couldn't find a publisher. Who would take a chance on a tiny Australian company?

Was thinking of the Zelda Game & Watch a couple of days ago and I was like... this was a Game Boy mini at some point, right? I mean make this look like a Game Boy Pocket, put on 30 games, make one which has Pokemon Red & one with Pokemon Blue, and you just sell shitloads, right?
They were just making Nintendo DS games about just about anything, man.
Still think about how M2 made Power Drift for the 3DS SEGA 3D Classics Collection, which came out in the west, but then made a separate, download version only in Japan which added a whole bunch of classic characters to it. And this game is still not emulated either, it's super broken.
