I've got a new Ol' Rip story over at Drop Dead Fiction. If you're not familiar, Ol' Rip is a pro wrassler who can't stop losing and keeps bumping into monsters. Profile pic by Betty Rocksteady. www.patreon.com/posts/163161...

@garrettcook.bsky.social wrote and narrated a new story, "Jwelkbyn Street," for Drop Dead Fiction. I wrote and recorded some music, reversing "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Check it out here! www.patreon.com/u73881785/po... Huge thanks to Garrett, @leswrite.bsky.social, and Jillian Striker for...
I got interviewed by Nora Peevy for the Butchered Writer and they made this awesome collage from some of my book covers! You can read the interview here: thebutcheredwriters.substack.com/p/author-int... Featuring artwork by Nico Murr, Andrew Hilbert, Luke Spooner, and Betty Rocksteady.
I won't be doing events outside of Texas until the new kiddo's a year, but I've got 3 coming in town! 5/24 I'll be a featured reader at Weird Warrior Yoga's Poet's Lounge at Radio Coffee and Beer South at 5, followed by an open mic. This'll be the 1st time I read from my epic poem, Call Waiting.
My friend @leswrite.bsky.social (all the way on the left, without his eyes scratched out) and I don't have a lot of photos together. He came by Drop Dead Fiction to read his story "Friendship." It's hilarious. You should check it out! www.patreon.com/posts/friend...
Today, April 29th, marks a year since Say Uncle came into the world! (Cover art by Luke Spooner. Photoshop of my face onto the cover by P.L. McMillan. Cake by HEB.) A couple of days ago, April 22nd, Saint's Blood had it's 4th anniversary. (Cover art by Niko Murr, cake by Dairy Queen.)
Happy Indie Bookstore Day! I've been very lucky to have the support of some kickass indie bookstores. Grab a book from @ghoulish.bsky.social, @littleghostsbooks.bsky.social, Curio Mrvosa, @magiccitybooks.bsky.social, Haunt Happy, Patchouli Joe's, or Lark and Owl today!
Saint's Blood came out four years ago! It feels like it was last week. I'm damn proud of this book and the journey this writing life is taking me on. If you haven't, I'd love for you to check it out! Maybe leave a review if you've read it? Cover art by Niko Murr.
When I was a kid, I hated spicy foods. My best friends’ Dad would take us to Hooters and egg us on to try the hottest flavors because American spicy food is a tough guy test. (IPAs are a tough guy test too, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about.)... (Art from DDF Year 2, by A.A. Medina)
We used to beg our parents to go to Blockbuster every weekend where they had SNL DVD collections of The Best of Chris Farley or Christopher Walken (who had an incredible sketch where he went on a prank show and “pranked” a man to death with a tire iron while the host freaked the fuck out).
I hope everyone enjoys the Austin Texas Book Trail this weekend! Normally I'd be out there slinging books, but I won't be doing public facing events til my new kid is a little bit older. I'm doing some online sales to celebrate! Bad handle bar moustache photo to boost the algo.
I don't do a lot of songwriting. It seems like as someone who's played guitar for twenty plus years and has published three and a quarter books I should give it a try so I joined the Georgetown Songwriter's Group. Pretty happy with how this one came out. www.patreon.com/posts/danger...
The recipe called for 4 cups of rice cooked. Apparently that was not the same as 4 cups of rice uncooked 😂. This has nothing on @nameshiv.bsky.social's rice story
This month the brilliant writer @hvpatterson.bsky.social stopped by to talk about "Stowaway" from V/H/S Beyond. The film is streaming on Shudder. www.patreon.com/posts/haa-20...

I love Book Bingos so I made one! If you sign up for Drop Dead Fiction and finish first, you could win a $50 Ghoulish Books mystery box. www.patreon.com/posts/drop-d...
Happy Halloween! Syd picked the costumes but refused to be in the picture. (Betsy is Air Bud and I'm Magnum PI)
Family pumpkin carving! All a team effort except for the 5 pumpkin difficulty stencil Syd picked because it had letters. That was all Betsy
I love indie bookstores! They’re the backbone of literature, often supporting local authors when their bigger competitors won’t. If you’ve been thinking of grabbing any of my books — Say Uncle, Saint’s Blood, Bad Connections, and Dumb Bullshit for Brilliant Idiots (co-author)
Stoker-Award nominated author @comptonwrites.bsky.social stopped by Horror Anthology Anthology to chat about S2, E4 of Tales to Keep You Awake, "The Return"! This one's a freebie, so check it out! www.patreon.com/posts/haa-19...
Tomorrow morning I'll be slinging books with @joshrountree.bsky.social and @daj42.bsky.social as part of Georgetown Texas' Saturday Market Days. I've heard rumors that Josh will have Frankenstein head candy. Get there early before I eat all of it.
The year is winding down and I’m still going hard on the appearances. I believe Say Uncle is a great book, and I’m pushing it as hard as I can. -10/4 - Signing at Ghoulish Books in San Antonio, TX, 2pm-5pm -10/14 -Ha! Ha! Storytime at Radio Coffee and Beer Menchaca in Austin, TX, 7:30pm
I'm so pumped to reveal this new P@tre0n art by the incredible @bettyrocksteady.bsky.social! This month, @kaijupoet.bsky.social , @ahilbert3000.bsky.social , and I are celebrating Scary Season by sharing each other's work. So if you subscribe to any of our Patreons, you get all 3!
Armadillocon 2024 vs Armadillocon 2025. Staying home to protect everyone else. I'm bummed to miss my writer friends. Cons and signings are how I meet new readers, so I hate to miss the opportunity.
Jerry Purdon stopped by on the latest Horror Anthology Anthology to chat about "Amelia" from Trilogy of Terror. (Yes, that's the one with the killer doll.) www.patreon.com/posts/haa-18...
