Played a game of 11th edition with a friend of mine before we played in a vampire the masquerade larp. All that is to say, I had a fantastic day yesterday.
I've been getting very involved and active in my local BDSM community and it's made me increasingly aware that, at this point, my next 40k army basically just has to be Drukhari. Like it was going to be Imperial Guard but becoming a Dark Eldar player would just be far too fitting at this point.
wild how my Following page randomly just has this ancient-ass woman reposting screenshots of AI-generated anti-Trump memes on my timeline when I've never followed this woman and this post wasn't reposted by anyone I follow. I love it when the dogshit in the Discover tab breaches containment!
I've spent my Pride Month doing gay shit like yearning for Horus Heresy Custodes models because hohmygoodness.... they're so fuckin beautiful...... I mean also I got a girlfriend but that's kind of secondary to how much I want to update my Custodes collection with these beauties.
Introduce yourself with four games. "So you're trans?" ..............yeah.
Do consider that the Tolkien Estate has literally published a trilogy of standalone adaptations of stories from The Silmarillion. The idea that it's meant to act as a core text establishing foundational mythic truths that folkloric reinterpretations can spring from does not come from thin air.
Nightfall in Middle-Earth proves exactly why The Silmarillion is such a criminally underrated fantasy novel. Tolkien never meant for The Silmarillion to necessarily see the light of day in the form it took. Instead, it's meant to be a kind of master text for which adaptations can be based on.
Oh, oh my god... they're so beautiful..... THEY DIDN'T FUCK UP A HORUS HERESY TACTICAL MARINES KIT, FOR ONCE!
Nothing astounds me more than how willing so many 40k fans are to be confidently wrong about 40k lore, or to write fanfiction in their own head and then buy it so much they try to pass it off as actual lore.
this guy has been plaguing my algorithm nonstop for weeks now even though I don't like or watch his videos, and once I finally broke down and watched one good lord was it the most egregious worldbuilding-for-its-own-sake slop on YouTube.
Pride Month?! A month, Jack? Don't be so ridiculous! Shit's gay YEAR ROUND SON!
Some Germanic Auxiliaries for a Hunnic warband. I also might run these guys as a standalone Visigoths or Franks warband.
It must be said, that thing about TWOIAF is not a bad thing. If I got to see these two actors doing Lyonel's Trial By Combat at the end of his failed rebellion, I think I'd be able to die happy, because it really would be such a tragically fitting full circle for their story.
idea: A skirmish game set in the world of Westeros called The Trial of Seven.
Aardwolf is such a sick name for what is, in all actuality, an extremely scrungly little goblinoid guy. Look at this fucker. There is nothing 'Aard' about 'im.
Sandor Clegane would go nuts for neoprene pup hoods like nobody who isn't a total freak goes around calling themselves The Hound and wearing a dog face helmet, right? I'm claiming this as furry rep. Fuck you.
Learning that this is what games looked like sixteen years ago and not like this is giving me joint pain.
Welp. Guess who just saw the sun rise after writing three thousand words of her novel's manuscript in a single sitting? Das right. It's ya girl.
I cannot express how much I miss the satisfyingly chunky proportions on old Heresy Era plastic kits. There's just something so satisfying about how stocky and wide these proportions are.
I fucking love Custodes, man. They're so cool. Ever since I was a kid I've been fascinated by bronze age mythology and folklore. Achilles and Gilgamesh and Hercules. And to me I love basically having an entire army of those kinds of people. Which is why I kinda loathe their current codex.
I think you can learn a lot about a person by what their favorite pieces of fiction are. So, here are my four favorite fictional stories ever:
Here's some pics I took before I stripped them. None of them are close-ups and these are all after they went through a bath in a sonic cleaner but I think you can still tell the level of damage the original owner put them through.
But nope! He's just back, no need for an explanation, he just *is,* and with an... extremely by the numbers remake of his previous model. I feel like GW is just expecting me to clap like a seal because OMG THE THING LOOKS LIKE THE THING I RECOGNIZE!!!!
Instead, he's... Just kinda back like it never happened? No word on how he died, how he survived, etc. This feels like an actual honest to god retcon in a way that 40k very rarely does. I would have liked to see him come back with a bit more fanfare.
me at the game store actually for real getting loudly scolded by an old guy convinced I was getting a rule wrong (he was the one getting the rule wrong) (he wasn't even playing)
