I have not seen any commentary about firing a gun in an area in proximity to people milling about, both civilians and uniformed officers. The gunman fired three shots that could have hit one of these random folks. He was really quite lucky this did not occur.
It was never just a Southern problem. And if things were so great up north then why did most of the race riots of the 60s happen in the North? I think the rest of the country, you included,just love heaping all the blame on the South because it diminishes your own involvement in the systemic racism
