This photo of Trump symbolically ringing a bell to open the stock market is so disturbing. The fiendish grin on Trump’s face, the little kids who have no idea what’s going on applauding and laughing, the sycophantic adults, the golden gaudiness of the Oval Office. Just ugh.
Happy 4th from the nation’s capital! Hope all the visiting rain-soaked MAGA folks enjoy Trump’s speech!

Looks like another day of huge crowds at Trump’s big event on the National Mall! And Fox is there!
“One of Italy’s leading newspapers, Libero, devoted its entire front page to Trump’s false claim that Meloni “begged” him for a photo at the G7. The paper’s massive headline reads: “TRUMP È UN COGLIONE.” The vulgar Italian word coglione is commonly translated as “idiot,” “moron,” or “asshole.””

You might be interested in this. It’s CBS correspondent Richard C. Hottelet’s copy of Eisenhower’s order on press coverage leading up to D-Day. Dick told me he was pretty much allowed to go anywhere he wanted, although his reports had to be approved by a censor. 1/2
Two weeks ago today, they pulled the plug on CBS News Radio. Its website is still up, an internet ghost.
I hear these guys may be available cheap. They haven’t had a gig since 1945.
