i like them for things that'd be hard to fit figures on, like monitor toppers
the way everything just melts into itself. they made normal water into some kind of cronenbergian nightmare. i can't even play the game like this if i know all the upscaled FMVs are going to look this horrible and they do not include the originals to switch back to
can't believe konami made a rick and morty game in 1988
it's seriously so good. not just for turret games like Starblade either, trackball games like SDI and spinner games like Bomb Bee play great with gyro. feels more natural than a mouse in many cases
you know what sure starblade you've got the coolest everything else. might as well have the coolest high score screen too
like come on, don't you want this cute little guy stuck to your laptop forever i could even do stickers of the enemies and put together a little display of them chasing this ship around, that could be cute for a cardboard stand-up display
facing worlds from unreal tournament recreated from memory in about 15-20 minutes in picocad 2 because i can't tear myself away from this program
i really love the spritesheet export function, makes it convenient to make something that looks like it could be in Escape Velocity
PicoCAD 2 is also a lot of fun, and is probably the thing i'll be continuing to experiment with the most for now, since most of starrestruck's upcoming projects are 2D
my first test of a 3D modeling program is usually to make a little spaceship and kenney shape and asset forge did not disappoint. very fun tools that seem like they'll be pretty useful for getting quick assets done for prototyping. love that asset forge can export a rotating sprite set too
a crocotile version of an old mockup for tanq, an upcoming starrestruck game. 3D is out of scope for this game in reality but i suspect this tool will be pretty useful for a sequel
may or may not be making a carmen sandiego remix/cover for normal reasons
so my index broke last night. headstrap just snapped, and i think it's revealing of a design flaw people should be aware of
still mad that 3D displays didn't take off in the mainstream. one of the cool things i've noticed about anaglyph 3D is that regardless of display tech or even whether the file is open it works. no OS standard needed, just put them on and suddenly 3D images are in 3D
did an art thing. intended to be viewed in 3D but 3D displays are uncommon as i've complained about before so here's an anaglyph version and a 2D version
nice app (i had to send this video to my PC to upload it because i kept getting errors trying to do it directly from my phone)
remember when racing games had really good car destruction modeling #360share
okay fine i did the trendy about me video games thing
