Thank you! 💙 The males are very vibrant, and the bluebird females are blue, but not nearly as vibrant. Here is an image of Carrie sitting on 5 eggs, and one of the eggs.
Our 5 bluebird eggs should hatch today or tomorrow. In the meantime Doug brings Carrie a green worm. 🤢 I’m checking the box cam for a crack in the eggs. It can happen fast. Once one hatches the others will follow. Carrie or Doug will remove the shells. Sound up to hear Doug’s happy chirping. 💙
I read this today on another forum by: Rev. Benjamin Cremer @brcremer.bsky.social ICE not only killed an innocent man, but they have given a 3 year old child a nightmare memory that she will carry forever. They claim they got the wrong man. It’s too much!
Male bluebird Doug enters the nest box. Carrie comes out to take a break from incubating 5 eggs. Doug follows her, but stops to check something. Then he exits to find Carrie. They are chirping to each other. Sound up. Notice the difference in the color. Males are a more vibrant blue. 💙💙
Three week old baby bluebird! His mom is in the nest box incubating 5 new eggs. She heard him clanking around, and looked towards the opening of the nest box. Video available upon request. Baby bluebirds have spots, and not much blue at this age. He's flying around with his siblings, and dad. 💙

A poor quality nest box cam video, but it gets better (sound up) when male bluebird Doug brings Carrie meal worms. She’s incubating 5 eggs. He drops one. Carrie picks it up while opening her beak for the rest of the worms. It’s easy to see the difference in his vibrant blue versus hers. 💙💙

Our bluebird, Carrie, checks out 1 egg that she laid yesterday. She sat on the nest with the egg for a short while. Ta-da! Carrie laid her second egg! In her last clutch she had 5 eggs, and all 5 fledglings safely flew away 17 days later with Carrie and Doug close by and still feeding them.

Yes, I’ve had them for many years. Problem is they build in the worst spots to protect, but we have it down now. It’s certainly not lovely to look at, but whatever works! Here’s a picture I took of one of them nest building.

Something cheerful to end the day. Our bluebird male, Doug, checks out the nest that he and Carrie built. It’s their second nest this season. They have 5 fledglings that they are still feeding. I’ll post a picture of the nest in the comments. We have a nest cam so no disturbing the birds. 💙
My bluebirds are building another nest. Just started today, and they are busy!
He’s too busy destroying the White House, and the grounds. He doesn’t care about anything but his own comforts. Housing for others is of no concern to an evil demented narcissist. This! ⬇️
Hey John! I thought you might like to see our new nest duo bird box. Now we can actually watch nest building, eggs hatching, and the babies every move. I am so excited, and hopefully someone will choose it to build in it soon. We just put it up where the old one was. So they like that spot.
