My new rug has arrived. Either that or I’ve been sent a shrink-wrapped Cookie Monster.
Just arrived at The Old Swan in Harrogate for the last day of #TheakstonsCrime to find Jeremy Vine stuck up a tree @on-magazine.bsky.social
Very happy with today’s book haul, especially the Accident film tie-in. I nearly hyperventilated when I saw it.
Lovely to see @annodracula.bsky.social leaving a copy of Offbeat, a book I also contributed to, for all to see while recording a feature for the On the Beach blu-ray. Review of the BFI release coming soon to @on-magazine.bsky.social in which I’ll mention the film’s tenuous links to East Yorkshire
I hope it comes across what great fun I had writing it! Of course I wore this throughout the process.
So as well as it being my 30th anniversary at PA today, me and my colleagues also received these. Teamwork makes the dream work, and other such cliches…
Happy Father’s Day to my Dad. I’m a bit bigger than that these days, and he’s certainly less hairy. Wonder what happened to the curtains…
Just back from a lovely few days staying with family in Twickenham. Not much time for bookshop-scouring, but did pick up these.
An unexpected sighting of Freddie Jones in a film or TV series always warms my heart.
The goodest of good boys is having an extra night at my house. I am very pleased about this.
Introduce yourself with ten bands or acts you’ve seen live. Kate Bush Paul McCartney The Rolling Stones Elton John Pulp Toyah Texas Wishbone Ash Groundhogs Focus
I’m a big fan of this film, which is why I’ve got a rather nice copy of the tie-in novel.
I thought the pickings were going to be very slim indeed from my recent London trip, until I found an Oxfam bookshop and a treasure trove at the Waterstones opposite my Gower Street hotel - I certainly recommend the latter, where most of these came from.
Bought a cheap copy of the first volume of Bryan Forbes’ autobiography off a certain well known auction site. I’m guessing the seller hadn’t noticed it was signed.
Always nice to see things I’ve contributed to out in the wild.
Great night at the press launch for this summer’s Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival. Story coming soon to @on-magazine.bsky.social #TheakstonsCrime
It’s been a good week. Got a thumbs-up for my latest contribution to a future Hammer release, been commissioned for another and received the new Intermission mag from @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social which features 3 articles by me. What’s next, I wonder…?
If you see this, we IMPLORE you to post a picture from whatever device you're using without explanation…
I can’t think of a finer way to celebrate being at a @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social event than by wearing T-shirts featuring these gents. They’re my designs, I’m wondering about going on Redbubble, but maybe I’m the only person who likes such things…
At last, my contributor’s copy has arrived. They asked if they could pay me to talk about a film, so of course I said yes…
